Description:
As a technical writer intern, you will be responsible for
documenting Intel's software products for Windows* and Linux*
systems that support Intel's processors. This includes designing,
writing, revising, and editing highly technical concepts and
instructions and creating software product documentation (user
guides, reference manuals, etc) and online help to describe product
functionality to end users. You will work closely with software
engineers and other project stakeholders to develop new content or
revise existing content. For creating product documentation, you
will analyze and interpret data to determine appropriate syntax,
style, and grammatical usage, as well as adhere to legal
guidelines.
As a project site support person, you will be
responsible for the layout, visual appearance and usability of
website, ensuring that brand continuity is maintained. You
will:
Liaise closely with the project stakeholders at the
design stage.
Advise the project stakeholders on the categories
and information needed to construct the site.
Design a draft site for project stakeholders
approval or modification.
Develop and maintain the project intranet that will
provide an accurate and immediate source of information to all
employees.
Write web pages in a combination of codes such as
hypertext mark-up language (HTML), JavaScript, CSS, Flash.
Design and distribute newsletters and other
documents relating to the website and the intranet.
Conduct presentations, internally and externally,
to promote the project web site and intranet.
Test the web site for functionality in different
browsers and at different resolutions.
Qualifications:
You should be a full-time or PhD student preferably
pursuing a course in linguistic related field.
Additional qualifications include:
Excellent English
Working knowledge of Adobe FrameMaker, Acrobat, and
RoboHelp authoring tools
Ability to learn quickly complex
technical material and create relevant, concise written
content
Prior experience as a software technical writer,
such as creating software user guides and reference manuals is a
major plus
Excellent communication skills and attention to
detail
