Hi
At the first I want to say thank's to Margarita and Harut.
That's a little complicated for me, but I try to understand, :)
I understood this is how matters stand:
1. Verbs who show what you like - only with -ing:
like, love, enjoy (Ex. love swimming)
2. Verbs who show process with -ing and with to+infinitive
finish, begin, continue, start
Ex. begin raining
begin to rain
3. Verbs who necessitate the second verb (what are you thinking an d
feeling, what are do you
want to do etc) - only with to+infinitive
agree, choose, decide, expect, forget, help, hope, manage, promise,
refuse, try, want, would
like, would love, would prefer.
I understood right or no? The rest is as in fog...

here are some rules:
FIRST:
1. You should use gerund (ing) after the following verbs:
stop delay fancy consider admit miss
involve
finish postpone imagine avoid deny risk
practise
1A. Also after give up (=stop)
put off (=postpone)
carry on/go on (=continue)
keep on (=do smth contineously).
2. You should use infinitive after the following verbs:
offer decide hope deserve attempt promise
agree plan aim afford manage threaten
refuse arrange learn forget fail seem
appear tend pretend claim
2A. The negative sentence of such a structure will look like:
We decided NOT TO GO....
SECOND:
1. Verb+ -ing -> often we use this structure for an action that happens
BEFORE or AT THE SAME TIME:
I enjoy walking.
2. Remember doing something = I did it and now I remember this
Remember to do smth = I remembered that I had to do it, and so I did it.
3. Go on going something = continue doing the same thing
Go on to do something = do or say something new (example, tell one more
joke, and then another one!)
THIRD:
1. like love hate can't bear enjoy dislike mind
can't stand
1A. theese verbs means like or not like. they are followed by -ing.
1B. after like/love/hate/can't bear you may use as to be, as -ing.
1C. after enjoy/dislike/mind/can't stand you have to use -ing.
Actually, you just need to understand that. Practise, again :) This is kind
a rule, which exceptions take more place than rule itselfs:)
good luck!

Hello everybody,
Tell me please what is the diference and when you use a form or other and
why:
1. Verb + infinitive (+to)
Ex. They want to buy a new car
He finished to read his book
2. Verb + -ing
Ex. Everyone loves getting letters.
He finished reading his book
Thank beforehand,
Andrew.
