Leading Portuguese retailer Pingo Doce reveals this month the first products designed by London agency Wren & Rowe - Pingo Doce Frozen Mozambique King Prawns and Pingo Doce World Sauces. “Pingo Doce have really embraced some of our more outlandish ideas, and then asked us to push even further. We have been given enormous freedom to create a new visual language for many food and beverage categories in the supermarket,” comments Paul Foulkes-Arellano, Wren & Rowe MD. The Mozambique Prawns have been created in a travel narrative style with photography of Mozambique fishermen by Rogerio Gomes . They also feature information about Mozambique and a recipe for Mozambique Style Prawns. The overall feeling is like a high quality travel guide. The World Sauces use a variety of illustration styles. The English sauce for example uses retro style illustrations of Queens Guard soldiers dodging the splashes of English sauce rain.
