I like this thread; Who is your favorite inline speed skater & why?.

My favorite skater(s) are the ones that look up at the winners on the podium, don’t get disheartened and work harder at the next practice. I know skaters that won’t make it out of their heats at nationals but place in their region each year and still go to the big show. Its not because they don’t want it its just some of us are destined to make the fast ones look even faster. These are the skaters that I look up to.

What is the danger of this all: yes you already guessed it; fatigue! I have been there many times before, I found myself not being able to resist the temptation of feeling the satisfaction of an extreme hard workout in the two weeks prior to World. Recovery is probably the best training you can get before championships…

The other thing I work on the last couple of weeks is the psychological part of my training. I start my focus on the performance, effort and the process rather than the outcome of the race…

The day before a big race I always picture the race in my head. I always try to put the other skaters in it too.
