[This report will be short; I'm going to bed pretty soon- there's a long drive tomorrow]

The Zurich WIC was tough and real fast. The weather was real hot. The course was pretty tough with two turn-arounds.

As you already know, Cecilia Baena and Joey Mantia were the big winners of the day. Yann Guyader fell and still managed to finish 3rd. The winning time for the men’s 43k was almost under an hour- that’s pretty quick considering there were two turn-arounds, another fairly sharp turn, and a few tram-rail sections.

1- 1:00.03- Joey Mantia-  Luigino Answer Wheels (USA)
2- 1:00.03- Diego Rosero- Rollerblade MPC World Team (Colombia)
3- 1:00.03- Yann Guyader- Powerslide Alessi World Team (France)

WIC Women 43km [click here for results]
1- 1:11.46- Cecilia Baena- Bont Wheels (Colombia)
2- 1:11.46- Brittany Bowe- Luigino Answer Wheels (USA)
3- 1:11.46- Alexandra Vivas- Bont Wheels (Colombia)

My race: I could only access a spot in the starting zone that was way back- I could count at least 15 helmets in front of me. I was so far back that when the race started, I started counting quickly in my head and made it all the way to 10 until I finally started rolling.

I tried my best to move up to make contact with the lead group. I’m not as fast as the top guys, and because the start was very quick, I was spent when I caught the pack. I managed to stay with the group for maybe 10k, and the other 33k was solo- how fun…! I finished almost 8-minutes off the pace, coming in with 1:07.something- 80th place.

Another skating photo!

Ah, but is it another skating photo?
I'm not skating.
I'm sitting against a wall.
And I bet I post more "wall" shots then "skating" shots.

Another wall photo!
Ah, but is it....
