Thanks Jim

I thought the ppppp string in the message was typical for Russian
military stations , but looking to an article in the April 2004 WUN
newsletter i see it is also a common format for other CIS forces.

WAPA came up with a common format of messages for all
forces. It is well known and still in use at all tactical and point-
to-point CIS networks:

162 30 18 1202 162 = 517 = ppppp 5ALG or 5FGx28 azkbz = 667 +
(or 11111) (or 18028)

The preamble may include the senders callsign too. If the message is
preceded by the (senders callsign) QTC the message is sent blind or
broadcast (to a CQ callsign).

162 message number
30 group count
18 day of month
1202 local time
517 appointment code, a specific person or dept at the addressee

ppppp or 11111 encryption information
5ALG/5FGx28 txt in accented letter groups or figure groups,
normally encrypted.

My corrected log will read:

7969.0 AEGI : Ukranian military 08:10 CW/A1A jtqf jtqf de aegi aegi qtc
153 19 10 1048 153 = 740 = ppppp .... (10 Nov 2007)(PPA)

Hi Michel,

these are reported to be "Royal Moroccan Gendarmerie"

> 06860.0 7115 maced army 2004 ALE USB snd 8nov07.

That one is Nigerian MOI/Police

711, 711711 were/are active here too.

They "only" co-use that channel with the MKD MIL.
(Thomas Rosner, Germany - udxf 12/11/2007)

finally ... here are some of ALF's no-ALE digi-mode loggings from the last days.

Some comments:

A ) The "German Coast Guard" use on the "1915 kHz" the ID "GLZ SEE".
It looks like they use now for nearly each "channel" a different sender
ident...hi

1915.x kHz : GLZ SEE (Cuxhaven)
2244-3 kHz : DQZ28 (Neustadt in Holstein, that stations seems belong to
the customs, which is
a "member" administration of the CG system??)
2671.3 kHz : CUX KUEWAZ-N and (Coast Guard Center - North Sea, Cuxhaven)
CUX MSZ (Maritime Savety Center, Cuxhaven)
3593.3 kHz : DQZ28

B) The GLN (Global Link Network) maritime e-mail service seems to have
changed their software. In past they used to send CW-morse ID in their
TOR channel free idles. Some times ago they stopped the CW-id. But now
I could get a CW-id again. At least some nodes do that CW ID now, e.g.
Rogaland gave "CQ CQ CQ DE LGB" between the idles (each 3 minutes or so)
I wish that GW would do so also...hi

... and here are some more no-ALE loggings from ALF and me ;-)

Comments:

A) "TASCOMM" seems to have the successor of (all ?) ARCHITECT "volmet"
broadcasts of the UK MIL "STCICS" (UKAGDE) system. Do they use that
callsign for all ground stations ("Architect", Cyprus, etc.) now?
From the signal strenght it could be...

B) Any idea about "BLUE CP" on 8003.5 kHz? Any COMMAND POST for any
BLUE wing ? A "one mission-only" used callsign? Or could be ID them?

C) So far no more detailed info about the TUR MIL voice nets,
anyone has any ??

D) I forgot to include in the "digi mode" log:
The Moroccan meteo 'CIMEL' PACTOR-net on 06897.5 kHz was heard
once again with a CW-id ("____00621", only the last part was copied, but
it sounded that all characters were numbers) after the successless
PACTOR calling.
Note, that most time no CW-ids are used. Maybe there are two different
"NCS" stations who call CIMEL1 and CIMEL2 ?
Any further/newer details about this net?

here are some of ALF's unid ALE loggings from the last days:

A) Still no ID for the unid net AF7 & GVT on 6550 kHz.
Leif wrote me that GVT could be Georgian Military, but the
"Utility Monitoring Central" database gave only GV1 and GV2
for the GEOs. It lists GVT sill as the
"USAF E-Systems Greenville, TX"
and a refer for some AFn's to USAF too, while I found in
an old WUN ALE-FAQ article the ID "#86-0403/SAM 403" for AF7.
So both idents are refered to "USAF" it might be possible
that the AF7/GVT-link is more "USAF" then "GEO MIL" ???
Any further comments???

B) A new frequency for the "KABUL BASE" net: 6562 kHz
But still no further ID...

C) Is 11147 kHz a new frequency of the Moroccan Civil Protection??
All idents seen are also active in their nets. But thats not
nessessary means a lot...hi No 11xxx or 13xxx idents were reported,
but it could be a sub-net of one member "agency" of the large
CP system (which consists of different "agencies") ?

... and PLEASE have some look at the rest and pse any comment... ;-)

... and now the rest of ALF's stuff. ALE ALE ALE....

After (the callsign) TASCOMM has overtaken ARCHITECTs voice nets
it seems that XSS is now also active on old "Aero (voice) channels"
of STCICS/UKAGDE. See 4706 and 6691 kHz, which were both new XSS
frequencies (for me).

Some USAF ALE-boxes seems to be missprogrammed, see:

6721.0 with "850032" which could match with the KC-10 aircraft (#85-0032)
I never saw any regular 8xxxxx idents on the HF-GCS. Correct would be
450032 ??

9025.0 kHz with "20178" which match with the C-17A aircraft (#00-0178)
5-figure idents should be incorrect? Correct is 200178 ??

But maybe my ideas are wrong and these two idents belongs to something
totally different??

PLEASE have a look on my ID of the AVNs, correct?

73, Tom

> 04358.5 LGL: Telenor's Floroe Radio Station, Norway 1758 PACTOR?
> with Morse ID every 3 minutes CQ de LGL LGL LGL. No frequency list
> for HF on TeleNor's home page. (12Nov07) (MPJ)

Hi Jim,

that station is operated by "Telenor Maritime Radio" of "Telenor ASA"
for the GLN (Global Link Network, known also for KielRadio/DAO etc.).

On GLN they are all called "Rogaland Radio" from 4 different
locations around Norway:

5839'.00 N 00536'.00 E (LGB)
5804'.21 N 00644'.40 E (LGZ)
6135'.00 N 00500'.00 E (LGL)
7022'.00 N 03106'.00 E (LGV)

See:

All active GLN frequencies under:

(Add 1.5 kHz to the "DIAL Frequency RX" in that list for
"our" USB-frequency of the shore station)

But 4358.5 kHz is not listed in that document for LGL,
but for LGZ24.

GLN recently changed their format for the PACTOR channel free idles
from "Idles without ID" back to "Idles and CQ de XXX".
That makes our live much easier ;-) Wish GW would do so too.

I was informed that a new ALE net show up on 14000.0 kHz
with the players:

ES1GRUTRA
ES2GRUTRA

Never saw any spot so far,
but my idea would be:

"Grupo de Transmisiones (GRUTRA)" of the Spanish Air Force

See:
http://www.ejercitodelaire.mde.es/WebEA/static/ServContenidos?id=E6A18D97A0F0A218C12570DD0042AB7A&plantilla=generica

while the prefix of the idents would match with:

ES1: Escuadrilla de Transmisiones # 1 in Getafe (Madrid)
ES2: Escuadrilla de Transmisiones # 2 in Tablada (Sevilla)

Just an idea, correct?

Any loggings for UDXF ?
