Установил четко по инструкции SameTime 8.0 Limited Use на Domino 8.5 (на Domino 8.02 тот же результат) под RED HAT 5.3. При старте сервера - в консоли пишет, что все красивенько стартует:

Каким образом можно перенести все папки и письма из Outlook Express в Лотус 8.5? При установке ставил галку на миграторе. Почитал доки по миграции - нашел такой способ - запустить в командной строке nupgrade.exe 4. Появился мастер переноса, который спросил только про настройки IMAP - имя юзера и сервер(задача на Домино не запущена, только РОР3). После чего отрапортовал об успешном выполнении переноса, правда сказал что перенес только адресную книгу. Открываю Лотус - ничего нового, кроме папки RSS, а вот в Outlook Express появилась папка с именем моей учетной записи в Лотусе и в верхнем меню кнопка "Папки IMAP" и все....весь перенос. Подскажите способ переноса. Поиск по форуму и гуглу ничего не дал, только на платную программу

Попробуйте изменить connection type (это в документе connection) На этот вопрос я так ответа и не нашел. Бывали случаи, когда канал забит и Domino при попытке построить список документов для репликации, теряет ответ от удаленного сервера и сессия...

Не уверен на счет 5-ки. В 6-ке точно есть, но только в настоящее время. В Domino Administrator на вкладке Server->Status->Notes Users отображаются текущие подключения. Если найду куда вся эта ботва пишется, отпишусь.

Я так понимаю что первичная установка сервера пытается запуститься в иксах и ессесно не может? Как сказать server чтобы запустился в консоли, что-то типа server -console?

1)Можно ли сделать так чтоб линки на документы были видны в представлениях?
2)Можно ли открыть ACL через LotusScript?

Как можно узнать(программно на Lotus Script) количество непрочитанных писем для другого пользователя ? (к примеру почту Иванова просматривает Администратор. и чтобы Администратор видел сколько писем не прочитал Иванов)

Сервер: Lotus Domino 6.5.4
Шаблон почтовой БД: StdR6Mail/ru

Many of you know the name Philippe Schlier. He was a co-founder of GSX, wrote an exceptional Notes monitoring program, has contributed in the past to DominoPower, and has been working on Notes since V2.

When Philippe approached us about writing a series about Notes 8.5 that would be part product review, part market study, and part developer commentary, we jumped on the opportunity. What follows is the first of his series, where Philippe discusses what he likes (and doesn't like about Notes 8.5). Next week, he talks about what he loves about Notes 8.5.

This series outlines my experience with the Lotus Notes 8.5 software and includes an analysis of the email market evolution and strategies, based on 15+ years of Lotus Notes usage and the same time spent as software designer.

My goal is clearly not to list and test all new features but to comment and analyze this product on a high level in order to position it, highlight problems and propose some improvements. In a time when many IT managers are reconsidering their choices with regards to their internal messaging system, I feel it's important to provide an independent, high level analysis of the leading messaging products and the strategy behind them.

First impressions
As part of the N&D Beta team, I have tested several beta versions but it would have been unfair to comment before the Gold version was out. That day came, and I upgraded my Notes client from V7.0.3 to V8.5. I had quickly dropped the idea of upgrading to 8.0 when it was released after testing it and finding it not as mature as I would have liked.

"It installs properly, requires a reasonable amount of resources and does the job, so far without crashing once."

The upgrade process went very smoothly. It took quite some time to go through the whole process but nothing unexpected, considering the size of the application, including Symphony. The interface is neat but I noticed -- once again -- the lack of explanation with regards to the options that can be selected during the install.

This is one of those where I'm not so much telling you something as I am asking for clarification of my own understanding.

Say you request a URL from the browser, such as "/database.nsf/Loop?OpenAgent". This agent loops from n=1 to n=1,000,000 and prints the value of n to the browser each time. If, half way through, you get bored and press the stop button on the browser, hit the escape key or even close the browser then what?

As I've always understood it the agent continues on regardless in the background. By the very nature of the stateless browser-server relationship on the web the server doesn't know if the person who started the conversation is still listening.

Imagine now that you've accidentally coded an infinite loop in the agent (we've all done it!). Once you realise you panic and close the browser. This doesn't help though. The only solution is to kill the HTTP task and/or restart the server. Or is it? I've always assumed so.

Assuming the server is still sending sending data back to the requesting machine, where does it all go - does the PC just receive it and then duly ignore it. What if you turn the PC off -- where does it go then?

I would like to see an option in de quickr plugin for the lotus notes client wich allows me to send an attachment to the outside world when I drag a document form a library into an e-mail. Now you can only create links. But sometime you want to add the real attachment when sending outside the office.

It would be useful to have a couple of instance-defined fields to add to ideas. There's always a problem where I think I'll need 1-2, then that's not enough,etc.
However, being able to add a couple of fields that we can define would allow things as simple as defining an idea Sponsor without having to implement another process to manage that or using tags or an additional IdeaSpace to dump "sponsored" ideas into.
