Eric ‘Hip Hop’ Gee’s latest entry is Back To The Drawing Board - Week Four Wrap Up.

Part of the reason things are taking so long is a lack of thorough planning (note: I’m still writing my boot design and construction document as I go along.) I did some initial estimates and hoped everything would fall into place, but it didn’t so I had to backtrack and do several tasks over and over again. This creates a lot of contention in the assembly process and a lot of efficiency is lost. One such example is the pattern cutting and gluing. These are steps best accomplished in a single task, but due to a couple of reasons, I had to address these things on a boot-by-boot basis.

It seems that I could write a small book on my experiences and lessons learned in this sport that has brought me so much personal happiness

SkateTv.de has a very nice video of the Sonnenwendlauf GBC in Wachau (and here’s a report in German). I got a kick out of the music used to open the video and even more of a kick when I watched the racing with the beautiful scenic back-drops.

As we head towards Koblenz the Mosel on the left... Navigation on this trip is Mosel on the left or the right based on the smoother surface for skating...

Nice view of the town with the Mosel river and vineyards..
