What are your thoughts on the mixed starts for men and women in the Advanced/Pro Divisions of racing? Should the men and women start separately? If so, why? If not, why not? How about the NROC or other points based system? Should the competetitors start separately in these series so that there is a consistent way to determine the overall winner? Let’s hear it!
Ahhh World Team Tryouts. 9 races in 5 days. U spend something like 2hrs actually skating and 20hrs trying to figure out how the points are working out. It’s the most mentally draining meet of the season b/c you have to be consistent the entire week. You can’t get to high if you win one race, or too low if you lose one race.
This is pretty cool; watch Kimani Griffin on From the Top at Carnegie Hall; Season 2: Episode 7 - Singing, Strumming, and Skating- you’ll be treated to his guitar playing as well as to short track ice and indoor roller videos.
Kimani Griffin (guitar), 17, hails from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. In addition to being a serious classical guitarist, Kimani has been competing on the national level in both in-line and ice speed skating for several years. Musically, Kimani has participated in youth competitions with the Guitar Foundation of America. In his spare time, he likes to hang out with friends.

According to the thread DESLEY HILL WAS IN COURT TODAY, Netherlands’ Roy Boeve used the court system to challenge the Dutch Federation for a postition on the national team. The judge ruled in favour of Boeve’s challenge.
