Le Taz is an multi sport indoor facility planned for Montreal. The facility will include an indoor roller speed skating track. The project has ample funding and construction is underway.
Those involved with the planning and contruction of the project have tried communicate with FIRS to gain access to the plans and are prepared to pay the appropriate fees to have access to the current FIRS standard track plans.
FIRS has not been communicating or responding to the requests for standard plans.
The window of opportunity for Le Taz to have access to the FIRS banked track plans in time for construction is closing rapidly.
If planners and developers cannot get access to FIRS’ plans very soon (ie within the next day or so), the track design will not be a FIRS standard banked track. Rather, plans for a 200-meter non-standard flat-track will have to be used.
Le Taz is a fantastic opportunity to have a completely indoor standard banked track facility in Montreal.

To my great pleasure, I just found out that has been uploaded on youtube by its creators. So sit back and enjoy Jacob Juul, Seth Nicolas, Martin Gade, Mark Stamer, Alec Schandert and more.

The big name South American skaters who could not attain Visa’s had them approved only 24 hours before Kalon Dobbin & the Matter team leaves for Suzhou.
We had been working very hard over the last month, to get approval through the Chinese Federation from there department of external affairs, we received the information & after a period of waiting, a copy arrived at the Zurich Chinese consulate.
So with the top skaters Dobbin, Rosero, Baena, Munoz Begg & Co all waiting with the Wic President Coni, the much awaited good news came through & now all the top competitors will be present in Suzhou.
I am leaving for France today. Morgane Echardour and I fly out this evening. We’ll spend a few days in Paris and then we’ll head up to Nantes. We’ll return to Canada in mid-September after the World Roller Speed Skating Championships.
I don’t expect that I’ll be regularly updating Speed Skate World until at least the weekend. I not quite sure how Speed Skate World’s content and approach will change while I am in Europe. I’ll decide on the fly.
This is a good training, racing, and learning opportunity for me. I can’t promise top results, but I can certainly say that I’ll be putting up my best efforts to skate fast, well, and strategically sound.
I am really excited to be going over and to see what I can do. I’ll do my best to keep in touch via SSW, MSN, and Facebook.
Thank you to everyone who supported me through friendship, training, donations, and well wishes.
Just for fun, here’s a picture of my nephew, Sebastien swarmed by chickens-
