Celebrations continued in Zagreb on Thursday night after Croatia thrashed 2018 FIFA World Cup favourites Argentina 3-0 in Nizhny Novogorod.
Excited football fans gathered on the central Ban Jelacic Square chanting, clapping and waving Croatian flags with flares seen burning in the crowd.
Croatia currently top Group D after wins over Nigeria and Argentina. The team will play against Iceland on June 26.
Legendary Argentinian player Lionel Messi and co. will be watching on with qualification out of their hands when Nigeria take on Iceland on Friday.
Should Iceland defeat the Super Eagles and draw against Croatia, or vice-versa, then Argentina would be out even if they beat Nigeria in their final game.

Разочарование латиноамериканцев и ликование «мушкетеров»: накануне на «Екатеринбург Арене» прошел матч Франция-Перу. С минимальным счетом вице-чемпионам Европы удалось вырвать победу.
Это красно-белый океан, который вышел из берегов, причем если южноамериканскую страну омывает Тихий, то это прилагательное к перуанским болельщикам точно не относится. Надо антоним подбирать. Они шли на стадион нескончаемым потоком. А фразы «Арриба Перу!», «Вива Перу!», «Вамос Перу!» местные жители слышали чаще, чем родную речь. Перуанский карнавал со своими гастролями добрался до самой восточной точки российского чемпионата мира.
«Я был Москве и Санкт-Петербурге. Мне очень понравилась история этих городов, архитектура. И еще люди в России — они очень дружелюбные». «В России прекрасная атмосфера, гостеприимно».
Данные о количестве южноамериканцев были разные. Цифры варьировались от 5 до 70 тысяч. Причем это были перуанцы, которые живут в самых разных частях света: Япония, Бразилия, США, Швейцария, Германия и Австрия.
Для тех, кто не разобрал испанского, поясню: она говорила, что география Перу обширна, а сама прилетела из Австралии. И среди этой палитры перуанских болельщиков скромно смотрелись трехцветные французские вкрапления «мушкетеров». Они всячески пытались заявить о своем присутствии, стараясь брать качеством, а не количеством.
Качеством взяли и футболисты из Франции. Эмоции, конечно, штука непредсказуемая, но для победы над первоклассной командой их недостаточно. Команда, составленная преимущественно из игроков, выступающих в чемпионатах Бразилии, Мексики и Перу, по определению слабее тех, кто выступает в Англии, Испании и Франции. «Трехцветные» забили еще в первом тайме. А мастерства и опыта подопечным Дидье Дешама хватило, чтобы удержать преимущество и обеспечить себе выход в 1/8.
Расстраивались перуанцы недолго. Южноамериканское танго звучало в различных заведениях города в течение всей ночи, и латиноамериканцы демонстрировали мастер-класс по пластике российским девушкам. Теперь город в режиме ожидания болельщиков из Японии и Сенегала — их сборные свой поединок на «Екатеринбург Арене» проведут 24 июня. Кстати, это будет матч лидеров группы Н.

France have already qualified for the next round of the 2018 World Cup tournament following a narrow 1-0 win over Peru at the Ekaterinburg Arena on Thursday.
Since they have qualified, the team will be able to catch a breath when they play Denmark on June 26, while Denmark must avoid defeat in order to go through.

The Head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov awarded Liverpool and Egypt attacker Mohamed Salah honourary Chechen citizenship in Grozny on Friday.
Salah was given a copy of the citizenship decree and a badge at a gala dinner, which was held in honour of the Egyptian national team.
In the morning, the Egyptian team took part in a collective prayer in Grozny's main mosque, the Akhmad Kadyrov.
Egypt continues training and preparing for their third and final group game at their base in the Chechen capital.
With two losses from their first two games, Egypt's tournament will end with the game against Saudi Arabia in Volgograd on June 25.
