The aim of UNIF 2008 is to bring together people interested in unification, present recent (even unfinished) work, and discuss new ideas and trends in unification and related fields. This includes scientific presentations, but also descriptions of applications and software using unification as a strong component. Authors are encouraged to use LaTeX2e and the Springer llncs class files. The necessary style files and instructions can be found at http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html. The submission page for UNIF 2008 is http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=unif2008 Informal proceedings of accepted contributions will be available on-line. A hard copy will be distributed at the workshop to registered participants. After the workshop, organizing a special issue of the Journal of Algorithms in Cognition, Informatics and Logic is envisaged.
