Chigumba took the opportunity to reiterate the Electoral Commission’s sorrow over the deadly outcome of Wednesday's protests, where six people died as the military opened fire on opposition protesters decrying alleged vote-rigging. “The commission deeply regrets the events of August 1 2018 which resulted in unnecessary loss of life. As Zimbabwean citizens we can do better in the future to avoid such blemishes in critical electoral processes.
