Mourners gathered in Managua on Saturday to pay their respects to Alvaro Manuel Conrado Davila, a 15-year-old student who was killed on Friday during protests near the Centro Americana University (UCA).
Davila was killed upon being hit in the neck by a police bullet.
Disputes over a new Nicaraguan pension law resulted in violent protests in Managua on Thursday, which lasted through the night and into Friday.
The protests allegedly began in response to the new law which was signed earlier this week, in which employees will have to contribute a larger amount of their pay checks to the pension scheme, while simultaneously taking a 5 percent cut to be used for medical expenses.

Budapest witnessed a second mass rally within the last two weeks as protesters took to the streets to decry what they perceived as rigged elections which led to the victory of Viktor Orban’s party and his re-election as prime minister.
«It is a well-known fact that Fidesz stole this country just like a thief. And they will take not just our future but the next generation's future as well,» a protester said.
The demonstration came after Orban's conservative-nationalist party Fidesz secured the largest share of votes in the general election, paving the way for Orban's third term in office.

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) reportedly pushed through the positions of the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL) in the al-Hajar al-Aswad district to the south of Damascus on Saturday, as fighting continued in the area.
Syrian government forces were seen advancing across the rubble-strewn landscape, while mortar and heavy machine gun units were also in action, as smoke billowed over the urban area.
The offensive comes after the Syrian military announced the full recapture of Eastern Ghouta from militants late last month.

According to media reports, Sunday's meeting ended without an agreement.

Around 700 police officers were deployed as Antifa demonstrators contested a neo-Nazi rally in Newnan, Georgia on Saturday.
Around 35 neo-Nazis gathered in Newnan's Green Street Park for the rally organised by the National Socialist Movement and held to celebrate Adolf Hitler's birthday. Antifa members staged a counter-demonstration on the streets leading to the park.
Police formed a heavy perimeter around the rally, including a fence, two layers of barricades, and shoulder-to-shoulder riot police.
Scuffles broke out between counter-demonstrators and police, with 10 counter-protesters reportedly being arrested, some allegedly for wearing masks.
Last August clashes between white supremacists and counter-protesters in Charlottesville, Virginia, left one person killed and 19 injured when a vehicle was driven into counter-protesters.
France: Far-right movement erects anti-immigration 'border' in French-Italian Alps

Members of the far-right Generation Identity movement constructed a fence on the French-Italian border near Col d’Echelle on Saturday, in a bid to block migrants from reaching France.
The new ‘border’ was built by Generation Identity members hailing from France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Austria and Great Britain.
Generation Identity members reached the Col de l'Echelle mountain pass, fencing off a passage used by migrants and refugees to reach France from Italy. A huge banner was laid out on a mountainside reading «Closed border. You will not make Europe home. Back to your homeland. No Way.»
Hundreds of Generation Identity members supported by two helicopters patrolled the area until nightfall.

Европейский союз ожидает, что власти Армении будут в полной мере уважать это право и справедливо и пропорционально применять закон в соответствии с международными обязательствами Армении, в том числе в рамках Европейской конвенции о защите прав человека и основных свобод. Все те, кто был задержан при осуществлении своего основного права на собрания в соответствии с законом, должны быть немедленно освобождены.
Крайне важно, чтобы все вовлеченные стороны проявляли сдержанность и действовали ответственно. Необходимо обеспечить инклюзивный диалог, к которому призвал президент Армен Саркисян, направленный на немедленное и мирное урегулирование сложившейся ситуации. The mother and father of Palestinian engineer Fadi al-Batsh, who was gunned down in Malaysia on Saturday, accused the Israeli intelligence agency ‘Mossad’ of carrying out the act. Al-Batsh’s parents lauded their late son’s scientific achievements and blamed the Israeli organisation for his death during an interview in the Palestinian city of Jabalia, in the northern Gaza Strip on Sunday.
Relatives mourned the death of Fadi al-Batsh, who was a Palestinian engineer and allegedly a member of the Hamas militant group.
“There is no doubt that the Israeli Mossad is responsible for this operation because Mossad does not accept any Arab, especially Palestinian, to be distinguished in the field of electronic science and electrical engineering”, said Al-Batsh 's father Mohammed.
“This is an honor for us. Firstly, for me, his father and all of Palestine, in this great honour that God gave us. The Israeli occupation was not satisfied and was defeated by Fadi's achievements and scientific accomplishments”, added his mother.
According to officials, two men on a motorbike killed al-Batsh in the streets of Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.
After his death, Gaza’s ruling Hamas militant group said that al-Batsh was a key member of the organisation.
On Sunday, Israel's Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman dismissed suggestions that Mossad was responsible.
USA: Manhunt underway after naked gunman kills four near Nashville

Police launched a manhunt for a fugitive gunman who opened fire on the Waffle House restaurant in the Antioch suburb of Nashville on Sunday, killing four and injuring two others.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department announced on Twitter that the suspect has been identified as Travis Reinking, 29, of Morton, Illinois.
According to a police statement, «a patron wrestled away the gunman's rifle. He was nude and fled on foot.»
It is reported that the alleged gunman was last seen in a wooded area near the Waffle House.

The death toll rose to 57 after a suicide blast hit a voter registration centre in the Afghan capital of Kabul on Sunday, officials say.
Head of the hospital Muhammad Saber Naseeb confirmed that, «approximately 54 were wounded including children, women and men, [they] have been shifted to Isteqlal Hospital.»
The explosion occurred at around 10:00 local time (05:30 GMT) in the Dasht-e-Barchi district of western Kabul. People had reportedly been lining up outside the voting centre waiting to register for the upcoming legislative elections when the blast went off.
According to reports, the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Police unleashed water cannons on revelling football fans in the Saxony-Anhalt city of Magdeburg on Saturday evening, after the 1st FC Madgeburg team successfully ascended to the 2nd Bundesliga.
According to reports, the celebrations started off peacefully, as fans congregated on Hasselbach square. Later however, revellers started a fire in the street, and when firefighters arrived to put them out both they and the police were assaulted and had bottles and firecrackers thrown at them.
Twenty-eight police officers were reported to have been injured and 11 people were temporarily detained.

Germany's Social Democrats (SPD) elected Andrea Nahes as their new chair in the western city of Wiesbaden on Sunday. She won with 414 votes (66.35 percent) against her competitor Simone Lange.
In her speech before the vote, Nahles answered questions including her perspective on Germany's relationship with the US and Russia.
«The relationship with the US and Russia has to be taken care of but needs to be treated realistically, which includes voicing critique towards Russia,» she said. At the same time, Nahles noted that it doesn't mean «turning our backs towards the politics of dialogue with Russia.»
«We Germans in particular want to be a good neighbour to Russia,» she added.
Afterwards, former SPD leader Martin Schulz presented Nahles with flowers and a framed picture.
The SPD is the country's oldest party. In Germany's parliamentary election last September, it suffered its worst loss of popularity of the postwar era. Nahles's priority is expected to be to rebuild support for the SPD.

Antifascists clashed with gendarmerie near the village of Claviere on the Frano-Italian border on Sunday, as they reportedly led an estimated 30 migrants from one country to the other. The march was held following the construction of a makeshift anti-immigration border the day before.
Demonstrators made their way along the roads, breaking through a gendarmerie blockade and continuing on their journey towards a migrants shelter in the French commune of Briancon.

The 372 square-metre 'Palestine Museum US' displays works of some 20 Palestinian artists hailing from the West Bank and Gaza who either still live there or work and live as expatriates.

Refugees had set up the camp on Wednesday to decry poor conditions in refugee camps and to demand the Greek authorities to speed up their asylum requests.
