*It seems that the Turkish stations have some unusual practices. Willi had
faultless reception of a message apparently from Antalya Turk Radio but
clearly using 'C' instead of 'D' and Alan also reports receiving a strange
one with Samsun showing 'D' instead of 'A'. The 4209.5 Station from
Istanbul often leaves the transmitter on, but without any traffic for some
time after its messages end. It also quite often sends 'TAH', the Station
call sign plus four data bursts, over and over every 15 seconds. This would
be well heard over long distances without using a decoder - it could even be
mistaken for a 'normal beacon' TAH on 4209.5 with the call pattern of
1 = = = = (15sec)! (Maybe such a logging could be taken as a valid
reception of the Station?)

(If I don't have an accurate Lat./Long. for some listeners, their
distances above may be a few km in error. Also, some station
locations may not be known with high accuracy).

Conditions were good for most of us and listeners reported several 'first
time' loggings.

The Combined Results file includes an extra table showing how the
transmission times actually compared with those allocated to each Station.

Thanks to all for their good clear logs again and I'm very grateful to Alan
for all his help in setting up the two NAVTEX CLEs and for his encouragement
with this form of beaconeering.

It's back to normal soon, with CLE97 during the last weekend in September.

www.kaliningrad.kp.ru).

Zambia will take over then).

checking the 41 MB this morning 17/9/2007 I noticed an African beat
station on 7285 kHz , with a program called "good morning Sudan" the
ID given in Arabic and English , the program was a mix of programs
like Darfur the road to peace , arabic/Sudenese songs, english songs
as well , the hosts were YL speaking in Arabic and OM in English
with african accent.

the ID was Miraya Radio 101 FM , I did some searching on the
Internet and found their website :http://www.mirayafm.org
I sent them an e mail asking about their plan to use SW as well as
Fm and I got the following Reply :

Yes Tarek we are planning to broadcast shortwave as well, but only
for a few hours everyday. We also have 24/7 live streaming on our
website. Hope you enjoy our music and programs.

Radio Miraya will be testing on Monday Sept. 17, 2007 from 0300 to 0600 UT on
7285 kHz to Sudan, in Arabic & English. Please send reception reports to bevoip
(at) yahoo (dot) com. Please indicate QTH. Thank you. Jane (via Ron Norton,
JihaDX Sept 16 via Kevin Redding, ABDX via DXLD)

If Ron Norton is involved, it`s presumably via IRRS, presumably via Bulgaria.
7285 is a frequency on their schedule at other times, per WRTH May update: in
English to Eu/NAf/ME, 1600-1830 Fri, 1600-1900 Sun (Glenn Hauser, OK, USA - dxldyg 18/09/2007)

Don`t you believe the RUI schedule in 7-108, from DX Mix News,
Bulgaria, which said that frequency changes would take place Sept 23, including
replacing 7440 with 5820 to NAm in English at 0000 and 0300! This was their
plan of last spring, but it now seems, long since abandoned.

In accordance with the below, we do confirm RUI still on 7440 around 2315 UT
check Sept 21, and nothing on 5820. Furthermore, from Oct 28 they plan to go to
7530 for NAm, English one hour later. Or forget it all if they run out of
financing in mid-October (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) Viz.:

UKRAINE [and non]. Re: co-channel 7530 Kol Israel [0430-0500 English &
French] / RUI to Kazakhstan. Thank you very much for this info. I think it is a
mistake, because their frequency has been registered 7545 as in the previous
winter seasons.

On the other hand, RUI has changed today almost all its frequencies. But, 7530
kHz was registered as an alternative one to 7440 for RUI transmissions to North
America at winter season because of impudent occupation last frequency by
VOIRI's DRM power transmission. Unfortunately, Iran did not attend HFCC B07
meeting in Birmingham.

But, on other hand, both these frequencies will not be used due to possible
stop of Lviv's transmissions in the middle of October because of failure of the
finance (Alexander Yegorov, Ukraine, wwdxc BC-DX Sept 20 via DXLD 22/09/2007)

QSL
