We are very pleased to have the opportunity to interview Tom Duff and Marie Scott about their new book IBM Lotus Sametime 8 Essentials: A User's Guide, as shown in Figure A.

We've known Thomas since way back in 1999, when he made suggestions for some of our earliest articles. Since then, he's written a number of great articles for DominoPower.

Marie first showed up on DominoPower's news page last year, when we linked to an article she wrote about Tivoli's Directory Integrator, which turned out to be a very cool Domino tool.

When Thomas and Marie told us they'd finished their sametime book, we had to sit down with them and learn all about it. Our interview was very wide ranging, and so the full interview will be split over two issues. Here's the first part.

Idea:
When you build forms into quickr you have to build/add them to each and every place and room you want to use them. This makes it very hard to maintain as any change requires updates to multiple places/rooms.
 
It would be better if you could for instance have a central 'Forms' library place where an administrator can add custom HTML/Office/basics forms. Place/Room owners then would get an extra option in their  'Customize' - 'Form' section to add "Custom Form from Library". Forms added that way should then link back to the Central Form Library. This ensures that when the form needs to be changed or updated (for instance due to updates in Quickr) that the admin only needs to change it in one single place instead of in multiple Places & Rooms.

Idea:
Whenever you build a form in a place with rooms you have to rebuild that form in each and every room. Why can't there be an option to "inherrit forms into all rooms" option that will automatically inherrit the form into each room? This makes it easier to maintain as you only have one place where you need to change the form (e.g. place level) and makes it a lot easier to move around documents between rooms (as each room has the same forms, documents don't loose their form).
