Okay, this has nothing to do with Notes and Domino. Paul the Octopus has died at the ripe old age of two and a half. He gained fame over the summer by predicting the winners of the World Cup. This page includes a couple of short videos showing Paul in action.
Last week I had the loan of a Canon 5d with a 17mm wide angle lens. My photographer neighbour lent it me to so I could go and take photos of a friend customer's self-catering property. It let me take photos like this one, this one and this one. All of these shots would have been almost impossible with a compact camera or anything other than a wide angle lens and a proper flash gun.
While I still had the camera I thought I'd go round the house and grab some shots. It's Karen's dream to one day have the house featured in Period Living magazine. Can't say I'm that fussed about it, but hey, if that's what she wants.
Here's a fun new feature in Notes 8.5.2: You can set a default font to use for all emails you send. We had lots of requests for this feature, so it's exciting to announce that it's here now! Yay!
This is a follow-up to last week's post in which I shared some pictures of our house 6 years after moving in and with the building work all but finished. In response to that post Jerry Carter pointed out that much of it is thanks to my dad.
What last week's photos didn't show was just how much work has gone in to the house, so here's a collage of before, during and after for each of the main rooms in the house (click for bigger version).
Even still these photos only scratch the surface of how much work dad and I have put in over the years. It's only when I look back through the huge library of photos I've taken that I realise myself just how much has been done.
It's safe to say there's no way I could have done it without dad's help. Dad has put in some serious graft. What makes this all the more impressive is the fact he turned 69 today. Only one year off 70, which I've always thought of as being really, really old (sorry dad!) but now I'm having to adjust that way of thinking. Dad's as fit as a fiddle. He's currently looking to buy a mountain bike and regularly puts in a full day's work on site for my brother's building company. Last I heard he was knocking a church down. Go dad!
Symphony doesn’t support any OpenType fonts on Linux systems. Migrating OpenOffice 3.2 sources should solve this problem because OpenOffice also didn’t supported *.otf-fonts until version 3.2.
It would be really handy to allow users to search for forms and then have them be able to create a document from the form using a link in the search results.
