Собственно нашел время и поставил.
Всё простенько и без проблем пашет, единственное что, не устраивает работа шрифтов, как-то оно косоватенько, особенно для менлких шрифтов.
Никто не в курсе как это всё правится?
Особенно поразило, что в виде если слово на анг. то одна высота шрифта, если на руском то другая.
Ну и собственно делимся у кого как с этим обстоит дело.

проблема: меняю провайдера интернета- через которого подключен мейл сервер со стоящим на нем Lotus Domino 7.0.2

1)на компе 2 сетевых интерфейса - один в локалку второй смотрит в инет. соответствующие адреса на внешнем я поменяю, далее стоит вопрос где в Lotus
изменить адреса чтобы все продолжало работать по прежнему?

2) надо ли в случае смены адресов провайдера ( а в моем случае- сменятся Ip и DNS с установкой нового подключения) менять что-либо на сервере репликации (вторая машина в сети на которой стоит лотус)

Оч прошу указать поподробней места или отослать куда надо smile.gif
Интересует вопрос: Внедряется quicker на платформе Domino, необходимо создать кластер.. Кластер создается средствами самого quicker или же он создается средствами Domino?? где и что можно почитать о quicker ??

The Notes/Domino busytime.nsf file can become become corrupted, causing problems with the Resource Reservations database. Use this LotuScript code to rebuild busytime.nsf files nightly -– without deleting busytime.nsf.


Notes 8.5 does not have the ability to import or export the Lotus 123 .WKS format. At least not right out of the box. Dave Hay has posted links to a couple of items in the Notes Forum on the subject.

There was once a time when I was a single man with more spare time than I knew what to do with. Never having been one to sit idle I used to busy myself with learning new stuff and generally playing with things I thought might one day be a useful tool in my career as an IT geek.

Those times are gone now. Probably forever. Unless something terrible happens like a nasty divorce followed by a stint in a bed-sit, but let's not go there though. As a family man and home owner I have precious little spare time and find myself having to think about how best to spend what I do have.

From what I've learnt here over the last week or so I can see that learning XPages is without doubt a worthy use of my spare time; I just keep getting distracted from spending anything more than 5 minutes here and there on it. Like last night when I had my attention grabbed by Google Gears and spent some time looking in to that.

I think the trouble is that XPages just isn't floating my boat. It's just not tickling my fancy.

The user (read developer) experience just isn't that hot either. It's cumbersome in the way Notes development always has been. The code editor's syntax highlighting and auto-completion don't help matters. In the time I have spent playing with XPages I've just not found it intuitive.

Contrast this with Flex. Flex Builder is an absolute joy to use. It's exactly what - to me at least - a development IDE should be like. I get a nice feeling when I use it. Sometimes, when I don't even need to use it, I launch it anyway. Just to look round and play. Building Flex apps is intuitive, well documented and helped by the fact there's so much stuff posted about the internet.

With Flex I found I went from complete novice to being able to produce real solutions for real customer needs in no time at all. I can't tell you how much I love Flex!

The thing with Gears and Flex is that I began looking at both as possible solutions to problems presented to me by customers. As yet I've not had a problem which has made me think XPages is the solution. Although this could be because I don't know exactly what they can solve. A bit of a Catch 22 situation I guess.

Maybe I need to wait until either a) a customer of mine moves to Domino 8.5 and/or b) I'm presented with a technical requirement for which XPages presents the only solution. When this happens I'll have no choice but to get stuck in and no doubt I'll love it and wonder how I ever managed without it. Until then I just can't see how I'm going to give it the time it deserves.

The other thing that's not helping is the fact that Notes 8.5 is on my Vista Parallels "PC" on the Mac mini in the office, so I have to be in there to use it. If it were on my laptop I might be able to play with it of a night time while watching TV. Although I don't even get time to do that now either...

Anybody know a reason I shouldn't move my laptop to Notes 8.5? Do dual installs work with Notes 7 & 8?

A couple of years ago I talked about how you can emulate a Blackberry on your PC if you don't own a physical device. More recently I've needed to emulate a device running Windows Mobile and found the best instructions on how to do this at the Google Gears website.

As you can see above I managed to get it working and without too much bother. In fact it's very straight-forward -- just make sure you read the instructions on the Gears site in detail.

It's no coincidence I found the instructions on the Google Gears site as it's Gears which I'm interested in developing with.

The requirement is to make an existing web-accessed Domino application work offline for handheld "PC" users who will then be able to "replicate" back to the server once they have the signal needed to do so.

It's all very interesting stuff and I hope to be able to share what I learn along the way with you guys. At some point there'll probably be a "Hello world" demo download that shows how Gears can work with Domino data.

There is also an Android emulator, an iPhone simulator (requires you to be a "Registered iPhone Developer") and Symbian S60 emulator. Anybody know of others?

My only concern with this approach to development is that, while it might test the code works, it doesn't mimic the end result of the actual "user experience". If you care for your users then, at some point, you might want to get your hands on the real thing and run through the whole process with a mobile in your hand. This is what I plan to do before I declare it fully tested and working.

Idea:
I really enjoy the new possibilities for developing applications for the Notes client. We actually have already deployed two eclipse-plugins for the new Notes client framework. Unfortunately, I haven´t found out a way to monitor which client / user the plugins has been rolled out to and to which not.
I think it is necessary to know that and would love to see a corresponding report in perhaps the Administrator client.

Lets face it, the Quickr Extranet pricing is insane for the SMB businesses out there. $30k per 100 PVUs!
 
We need a Quickr equivilent to Domino Utility Express. Somewhat cheaper and way more accessible for the smaller shops.

Idea:
The ability to add external users is a double edged sword. Yes, it is an icredible idea to allow communication inside and outside the organization. However, it is very difficult to ensure complicance for a licensing prespective (until we get reasonable extranet licensing options).
 
We need some type of reporting on the type of user (internal vs external), the number of unique users, and maybe the ability to remove a user from all places (no, not via qptool!).

Some Quickr installs have a lot of places. Just being able to sort them as-is is not really working. I'd like to see the option to flag certain places as "My favs" and have them at the top or on a special page.

I'd like an option to change the replication settings on the fly. 
 
Why:
I update a template with a minor change - let's say a new column in a view
I refresh the design from the template of the app
I hit replicate, and it has to go through all the data and design, but I really just want that one design change pushed out.
Would be nice if I could just hit "Replicate -> design only"
 
Yeah, I know it probably isn't best practices to update apps on the fly, but in reality, it happens.
Sure, I could replicate the template out, then tell the other app to refresh it's design, but so many more clicks and waiting...

It seems the submission of bugs etc has been failing these past few days in the project management database. I have taken a look and hopefully this is now ...
