Almost every contest he enters he wins with a groundbreaking stunt. Don't miss his latest feat, with this HUGE disaster 360 soul.
Alfano 1st place at the NL contest, skating the new Deshi CH1 grey.
The World Inline Cup circuit is making its way to Holland this weekend with the Wolvega Holland WIC- you can read a preview of sorts in World Cup Topics for 2008; Bill Begg says ‘A fair bit of talk around at present, as tojust how good the young Dutch male skaters are, some Dutch guys returned home in the middle of the night from a tough competition in Spain, then went out the next day & took out a marathon.
From the first Inline days the Dutch were very fit & strong on the Inlines but after the 1992 first Worlds, where Inlines first were allowed in some events, they hae not had the sprinters capable of finishing the job inthe pack.
Now with guys like Sjord Huisman, Carlo Timmerman, Gary Heckman & Roy Boeve they have some strong guys, with a fast finish.
In the words of famous racing connisuer Dai Davis, the Wolvega finish could be quite tasty.
The Holland event will see Ecuador Skaters compete for the first time in the WIC. Alexis Perez 17 years & Jorge Bolanos 19 will race.
Well you never heard of Ecuador, well Bolanas is a Pan American games medalist, who has been training in Colombia & recently trained in Ecuador by top Colombian Coaches.
Less than 2 days after hopping off the plane, be destroyed a very top class field of skaters including Argentinian & Colombians in the 4 km Weinfelden Hillclimb race, this guy is a very good skater‘.
Michael Cheek has a new entry called NEW PROGRAM. He gives his insights about the competitiveness of the world skating scene and positions and explains the USA’s skating performace. He opens his entry by saying ‘It seems to me every one has all the complaints about the results of the US on the world level. It’s like everyone thought our country would dominate like they did in the early days of inlines. Well the sad truth is the rest of the world got really good really quick. The opportunities in the US dried up quickly, and we lost all of the funding for the world team.
Well fortunately for us Spanky took over as executive director for USARS. Since then things have drastically improved‘.
‘Ever feel like you wanted a few extra inches?‘ Check out the video for the Gigantathon 6 x 110mm frame- you’ll be treated to a video of Glenn Koshi skating on the long frames.
If you guessed Derik Beier (right), Aaron Arndt (middle), and Peter Doucet (left), that you get 100%. The three of us made the 24-hour drive from Toronto to Winnipeg with Wayne Burrett to get to the 1995 Canadian Championships.
On the way home from Winnipeg, we drove through the USA and stopped off in Coup D’oreille, Wisconsin where we skated on the banked track. We had to sweep hay off the track to make it skateable.
Aaron, Derik, and I got into a shaving cream fight at Hotel, eee… Motel Radisson the night before the picture below was taken.
Wayyy back in 1995- left to right; Peter Doucet, Aaron Arndt, Derik Beier
