Russia: Memorials held across country as nation mourns Kemerovo 2018-03-28 04:37 Thousands of people gathered throughout Russia to remember the 64 people who died in the 'Zimniaya Vishnya' (Winter Cherry) shopping mall fire in Kemerovo on Sunday. Hundreds of balloons were released simultaneously in Irkutsk. More than 500 people attended the Field of Mars in St. Petersburg where mourners left flowers, toys and lit candles for the dead. In Sevastopol, people of all ages gathered in Heroic Cities Alley. Dozens dedicated a minute of silence to the victims in central Lenina Square of Chita.
