There are exempted from payment of customs duties and taxes drilling and operational platforms floating or working under water, temporary importing to the customs territory of the Russian Federation
The Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation N 17
of January 19, 2008 (document is in Russian) grants full
conditional exemption from payment of customs duties and taxes
in respect of drilling and operational platforms floating or
working under water
(code of the TN VED of Russia 8905 20 000 0) temporary imported
by Russian persons for geological prospecting works, which limiting
term of temporary import to the customs territory of the Russian
Federation is 5 calendar months, under condition that such goods
stay in the ownership of foreign persons and are transferred
to Russian persons under contracts of lease, financial lease.
This Decree is valid during tow years.
