Host Company Description:
Family owned and operated tourist attraction in Hawaii is looking for bi-lingual (Japanese or Chinese language) interns or trainees. The company provides recreational and historical tours of their 4,000 acre ranch property, spread from the steep mountain cliffs to the sparkling sea. Many guests are from Japan and China. Located on the northeastern side of Oahu,
it is less than an hour from Honolulu. The ranch terrain varies from dense rainforest to broad open valleys and from beautiful white sand beaches to verdant cliff faces.
The ranch has been the site of many television shows and Hollywood films such as Jurassic Park, Windtalkers, Pearl Harbor, Godzilla, Tears of the Sun and 50 First Dates. TV shows include Hawaii Five-O, Magnun P.I. and most recently the hit show LOST. It is truly a paradise for outdoor recreation with many places accessible with horseback, on tour bus or by hiking.
Applicant Qualifications:
∙ To apply for an internship program, you must be a hospitality or business management undergraduate/graduate student (maximum duration – 12 months)
∙ To apply for a trainee program, you must hold a hospitality or business management degree and at least 1 year of work experience, OR be a career professional of 5 or more years of hospitality or business management experience (maximum duration – 12 months for hospitality management, 18 months for business management)
∙ Bi-lingual in Japanese or Chinese and in English
∙ Have a drivers license
∙ Willing to work outdoors
Tour Guide/Hospitality Management Training/Internship Program Details:
∙ Conduct organized tours by bus on a ranch
∙ Introduce visitors to places of interest
∙ Communicate engagingly with large groups of people
∙ Offer specialized knowledge on natural history and nature
