Trainee/Internship Program Offer

Design and Production – New York, NY, USA

 

Start Date(s): April 2009

Hours: 40 hours/week

Location: New York, NY, USA

Training Duration: 4 months

Compensation: $150/week

Number of Position Offered: 1

 

Host Company Description:

 

This growing company based in New York City uses high-end materials to design and create elegant, stylish, luxury handbags sold all over the world. The handbags have been featured in Elle, Vogue Paris, People, Lucky Magazine and Cosmopolitan Magazine. The company is also developing their denim and leather collections.

 

Applicant Qualifications:

 

∙ To apply for the internship program, you must be a design or production management undergraduate/graduate student (maximum duration – 12 months)

∙ To apply for the trainee program, you must hold a design or production management degree and has least 1 year of work experience in a related field, OR be a career professional of 5 or more years of experience (maximum duration – 18 months)

∙ Excellent communication skills in English

∙ Proficiency with CAD, Adobe Photoshop required

∙ Training at either a fashion or technical design school preferred

∙ Able to perform well in a fast-paced environment

∙ Attention to detail

∙ Willing to advance the current skills and knowledge by learning American business traits

 

Management Training/Internship Program Details:

 

∙ Sourcing new vendors and factories for raw materials for the hardware, denim and leather handbag lines.

∙ Providing assistance with concept creation and product design.

∙ Providing assistance with production; assistance with quality control, quality assurance, customer satisfaction, logistical support and production follow up.
