Здравствуйте!
 Надеюсь, что вы полны желания работать. Летом нельзя расслабляться.

Проверяем упражнения.
1. Yesterday, while Jane was washing up she broke two cups.
2. What were you doing when I phoned you last night?
3. Last week a burgler broke into the house while we were watching  television.
4.Economics  has only recently been recognised as a scientific study.

В последнем примере слово  Economics имеет единственное число.
 Здесь оно рассматривается как наука. То же  самое будет
 со словом Politics и некоторыми другими.
Но иногда эти слова потребуют глагола во множественном числе. Но об этом позже.



VI. Переведите на английский язык слова, данные в скобках.
1.    Не learned about my arrival by chance.
2.    The house is not easy  to keep clean.
3.In  other words, she was very upset.
4. There was something  unusual in the atmosphere.
5   I haven't seen much of her lately. ( recently)

VII.    Выберите правильный вариант.
a)    Neither Fred nor Jack had a clear idea of it.
Внимательно прочитайте нижеследующие строчки. Изучите примеры.
You can say  BOTH...AND..,NEITHER...NOR...and EITHER...OR...

 Both Tom and Ann were late. They were  both  tired  and  hungry.
 Neither Tom nor Ann came to the party. He said he  would  contact me but he neither wrote nor phoned.

 I'm  not  sure  where  he  is from. He's either Spanish and Italian. Either  you  apologize  or I'll never speak to you again.


I don't know where his clothes are.
     Clothes- множественное число. Запомнить!

 In the past most of the population lived in the  country.
The judge sent our neighbour to   prison for a month.
И опять читаем правило и примеры.
PRISON, SCHOOL, UNIVERSITY, COLLEGE, CHURCH

We say a criminal goes TO PRISON, a child goes TO SCHOOL,  a  student goes TO UNIVERSITY or COLLEGE.

After I leave school, I want to  go  to  university.
 Why  aren't  the children at school today? Mrs.
 Kelly goes to church every Sunday.
 

We say "be IN prison" but usually " be AT school/university/ college.
 IN church and AT church are both possible.

Mrs. Kelly went to the school to meet her daughter's teacher.
Excuse me, please, Where is the university? The workmen  went  to  the church to repair the roof. Ken went to the prison to visit his broth

We were looking forward  to a quiet rest near the forest.

Our city is famous for its beautiful ancient buildings.

 А теперь продолжаем Present Perfect.
 Смотрим образцы предложений.
Have you heard from George?- No, he hasn't written to me recently.
We use the Present Perfect  when  we  talk  about  a  period  of  time  that continuos up to the present.

Have you seen my dog? I can't find him anywhere.
 Everything  is  going fine. We haven't  had  any  problems  so  far.  
We have   met  a  lot  of interesting people in the last few days.
 Fred has been ill  a  lot  in the past few years , hasn't he?
 I haven't seen George  recently.  Have you?

We use the Present  Perfect with YET.
-HAS IT STOPPED RAINING YET? I  HAVEN'T TOLD
 THEM ABOUT THE ACCIDENT YET.

We use the Present  Perfect with THIS  MORNING/  THIS  EVENING/  TODAY/  THIS WEEK/ THIS TERM/ /when these periods are not finished at
 the  time  of speaking/.
 I have smoked 10 cigarettes today.
 
Has Ann had a holiday  this year? I haven't seen Tom this morning.
 Have you?  Ron  hasn't  studied very much this term.
 Bill is phoning his girl friend again.
 That's the third time he's phoned her this evening.

/you hear from Ann recently?/ Have you heard from Ann recently?
/you/ read/ a newspaper recently?/------------------
/you/ see/ Tom in the past few days?/----------------------------
/you/ play tennis/ recently//--------------------------------
/you /see/ any good film recently//

 We use the Present  Perftct with THIS IS THE FIRST TIME...., IT'S  THE  FIRST TIME....

Ron is driving a car. He is very nervous and  unsure  because it's his first time behind the wheel of a car.
 THIS IS THE FIRST  TIME HE HAS DRIVEN A CAR. Or
 HE HAS NEVER DRIVEN A CAR BEFORE.
Tom has lost his passport again. It's the second time he has lost it.
 Is this the first time you've been in hospital?

Ron is phoning Jill again.  He  has  already  phoned  her  twice  this evening. It's the third time he has phoned her this evening.
1. You are late again. You have already been late once this week.
It's the second --- this week.
The car has broken down. It has already broken down twice this month. It's the ---
Ann has just finished drinking a cup of tea. She has already had  four cups this morning. It's the fifth ---
