News Corporation's president has spoken out publicly against the financial state of social network MySpace, saying that the losses from the social network are 'neither acceptable or sustainable'.

A four-year campaign to secure a ".cym" internet address for Wales has been lost to the Cayman Islands in the Caribbean. DotCYM project leaders in Aberystwyth said it was disappointing, but they still plan to bid for a Welsh version of the .com or .co.uk domain.

Samsung expects to sell more than a million Galaxy Tabs this year, the Korean giant said today. The Tab, a 7in tablet running Android 2.2 and featuring Wi-Fi, 3G and GPS technology, went on sale im Europe and Asia at the start of this week.

A third new Nokia handset from Nokia World 2010 has begun shipping, with the Nokia C6-01 offering the same sort of functionality as its Symbian brethren the C7, but in a more affordable package. The C6-01 has a 3.2-inch Clear Black AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 8-megapixel camera with LED flash, and 720p HD video recording.

Do you ever feel as if there are e-mails in your inbox that are just staring at you? Taunting you as you click on newer messages? T-Mobile does not have a 4G network. Sprint, which first launched WiMAX in June of 2009, does not have a 4G network. Verizon Wireless will flip the switch on LTE later this year and when it does, it will not have a 4G network. AT&T is taking its time with LTE and it won’t fire anything up until next year. When it finally does, AT&T will not have a 4G network.

At today's Facebook mobile event he was asked why there is no Facebook iPad app. He said, "iPad's not mobile...it's a computer," and that's why he's not talking about it at a mobile event. After his relatively curt, and jokey response, Erick Tseng of Facebook explained that there will be many tablets coming, so they want to see how it shakes out before committing to one platform. Sounds like they might consider some version of a web product for tablets instead of building app after app.

Who invented the computer? For anyone who has made a pilgrimage to the University of Pennsylvania and seen the shrine to the ENIAC, the answer may seem obvious: John Mauchly and J. Presper Eckert Jr., who led Penn’s engineering team in the 1940s. As it says on the plaque, the giant machine made of 17,468 vacuum tubes was the “first electronic large-scale, general-purpose digital computer.” But notice all the qualifying adjectives. Does this mean there was a smaller digital computer that actually came first?

Microsoft now expects to sell 5 million of its Kinect motion-sensitive game controllers during the December quarter, based on pre-order interest. Its previous estimate was 3 million. The update was first tweeted by Bloomberg's Dina Bass, who got it from Xbox head Don Mattrick during an interview.

App phenomenon Angry Birds has reportedly surpassed 10 million paid iPhone downloads from the Apple App Store. With the free Android version of the perilously addictive game having already exceeded the 2 million mark, the total number of free and paid for downloads of the Angry Birds app across all mobile platforms is believed to have topped 30 million.
