Spring Into Healthy Family Inline Skating Activities
2008-03-15 14:48
It's spring time, and as the weather warms up in the regions that are further north, another important inline skating health benefit comes to light. Skating outdoors will not only...
EGC Skates: EGC Skates is alive and kickcing; the company wrote on their site ‘If you’ve been waiting for an update, your wait will be over soon. My first article on EGC2008’s will be coming shortly. I’ve got local skaters lined up and I’ll report back on the success (or failure) of my all new designs‘.
Hegarty’s Challenge: Andrew Hegarty’s website is back up- this time with a redesign to boot. Andrew Hegarty put up an update on the challenge- see The Challenge - Final Update for more.
World Inline Cup Previews: The World Cup Topics for 2008 topic is heating up- Bill Begg is discussing the men’s previews- you’ll be able to read about the Colombian men, the Dutch teams, and the New Zealand skaters.
RRC’s Moment: There is an interesting (as usual) entry on Road Rash Chronicles- this one’s called My Dr. Phil / Oprah moment.. I think his advice is worth putting up here; ‘If you are new to this sport and you are unsure about what to do, how to train or what to buy, talk to people. Find someone whom you want to skate like, or with whom you share a common skill level and ask for their advice…‘.
Defi Record Correction: In the Defi De L’Ile De Montreal Report- Including Video & Photos, I reported that I set the record for the event- I was just informed that in fact, the record is 4:51 and was set in 2003, and that makes my 2007 time the 7th fastest.

Our favorite sport!! The bungee cord helps to keep you from totally pulling the bicycle driver out of whack if you fall, trip, or otherwise shift positions rapidly.
I bicycled to the farmers market pulling John, and he pulled me back since we had a giant planter full of baby lettuces and I'm not strong enough to carry that, pull him, and bicycle at the same time.
John is wearing his standard outfit: tshirt with inappropriate saying, cargo pants, tennies
Tess is wearing: thrift dress, shirt and belt. Tights from Target. Blades from a friend.
Rollerblading home from the farmers market. I bicycled and pulled John there, and he pulled me back! I'm so glad it's spring time, this is our favorite Saturday activity!
Lettuce: Mix baby lettuce, harvest and it continues to grow for the rest of the season. nom!
blouse: thrift
dress: thrift
belt: thrift
tights: target
shoes: awesome rollerblades given to John by our cousin Seanny.
Today one of the woman selling things at the market told me I looked very "bold", I said thank you (wasn't sure if this was a compliment at this point) then she said that all the girls she saw in Vienna had pink hair. So I guess she considers me very stylish, which I take as a very nice compliment :)
