Thousands of demonstrators, mostly female, marched through the streets of Buenos Aires, Friday, calling on the government to fully decriminalise abortion.
With banners and coloured smoke grenades, demonstrators marched to the steps of National Congress where they held a rally demanding women's access to free, safe and legal abortions.
Currently, abortion in the country is legal if it threatens the mother's life or the result of rape.
The demonstration was a part of a two-day event in Buenos Aires raising awareness about women's reproductive rights.

French actor Samy Naceri, best known for his role in the action-comedy 'Taxi', arrived in Crimea's Simferopol on Saturday, ahead of the 4th Peace Forum, in Yalta on 1 October.
Naceri, who is in Crimea to participate in the Peace Forum was accompanied by his friend, singer Mourad Bouraoui, who told the press, «We are very glad to be here, in Crimea», adding «we are not afraid of sanctions, we love your country.»
Naceri went on to autograph a local taxi as he was met with the traditional welcoming greeting of bread and salt.

Around one hundred Spanish nationalists marched through central Madrid on Saturday to protest the Catalan independence referendum and demand the acquittal of a group of ultra-right-wingers from a previous protest.
As the far-right demonstrators marched towards the city's town hall under the slogan «Acquittal of [the people convicted in the Blanquerna case],» they waved national flags hailing the unity of the country and performed the Nazi salute along the way.
The Blanquerna case involves 14 far-right extremists who were ordered to begin prison sentences for attacking the Blanquerna Cultural Centre during Catalan National Day festivities in 2013.

Soldiers from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) drove through the ruins of Raqqa to the SDF frontline against self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ ISIL) near Raqqa National Hospital in Syria, Friday.
The fighters drove from the Jazrat crossroads in the Nahda neighbourhood to points around the hospital where the SDF is making advances against IS.
IS militants have lost vast expanses of land over the past year in separate operations waged by the SDF, the Russian-backed Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Turkey-backed Syrian rebels.

Thousands of Spanish unionists flocked to Cibeles square, in front of Madrid's City Hall, on Saturday, to raise their national flag and rally against the Catalan independence referendum on October 1.
The Foundation for the Defence of the Spanish Nation (DENAES) had called for a nationwide protest one day before the referendum takes place. Demonstrations were carried out in front of town halls across the country.
The Spanish government has deemed the referendum, which is set to take place on October 1, «illegal.» The Constitutional Court suspended the Catalan referendum law, following an appeal from the Spanish government. It will be suspended until the court reaches a decision.

A small group of the right-wing Nordic Resistance Movement (NRM) clashed with antifascist counter-protesters, in Gothenburg, on Saturday, who had come out to demonstrate against the far-right group's rally in the city.
The demonstrators from the NRM entered a larger crowd of antifa, who them out.
The Nordic Resistance Movement has dubbed their rally a «revolt against the traitors». In anticipation for clashes between the groups, Gothenburg received police reinforcements from other districts across Sweden.

Over 300 people rallied in front of the Palau de la Generalitat de Catalunya in Barcelona on Saturday, against Sunday's referendum.
The protesters, who waved Spanish flags and shouted pro-Spanish slogans, insulted and harassed a number of independence supporters who were also present.
One day before the Catalan referendum, supporters of a united Spain have taken to the streets in cities including Palma, Santander, Santiago, Madrid and Barcelona.

Protesters were seen chanting and throwing smoke bombs in the direction of the police officers, as the anti-fascists gathered to protest the far-right group. Police detained several protesters.

Spain: Catalonians head to church to put fate of referendum in God's hands

Worshippers gathered at the Basilica of Santa Maria del Pi, in Barcelona, on Saturday, to hold a service for the upcoming independence referendum, which is set to take place on October 1. The sermon was held after Catholic religious leaders called for a special morning of reflection and prayer.
An Estelada flag was placed on the altar of the church and an acoustic musical performance marked the event. Priest and organiser of the gathering, Cinto Busquet, said that despite the «incapacity of the Spanish government to face a political problem,» people will take part in the referendum and cast their vote.
Busquet explained that «the Church has had a very special role» throughout Spain's Catholic history and added that Pope Francis should invite all Catalonians «to [stand] together with our people.»
Earlier in the month, some 400 priests and 40 deacons from ten Catalonian dioceses and congregations signed a statement in support of the independence referendum, which was then sent to the Pope. The referendum has caused divisions within the Church as some priests back the vote, while others maintained a distance from the secessionist movement.
A group of 22 priests who are promoting the declaration called for the morning of prayer in the Barcelonan Basilica.
