Гармоники 9870 Skelton Cumbria site. KBS Korean service at 0700-0800 UT noted with terrible wide signal splatter of 34 kHz, from 9853 to 9887 kHz on May 6th. Observed on three different rx. Galei Zahal Israel still wandering, varying around 15794.12 kHz at 0718 UT. (W. Bueschel, Stuttgart, Germany - harmonics 06/05/2007) 5811.38, LV de tu Conciencia, 0825-0840, May 5, Weak spur of 6009.48 leapfrogging over 5910.43. (Brian Alexander, PA - dxld) 6108.53, Marfil Estereo, 0830-0840, May 5, Very weak spur of 5910.43 leapfrogging over 6009.48. 99.05 kHz separation between each frequency. Beware of Chile on 6109.78 (Brian Alexander, PA - dxld) At least the playout of Radio Taiwan in German for the transmission via Issoudun 2100-2200 on 3965 works out, unless it's just old stuff, like reported in the enclosed message: On Tue (May 8) 3965 obviously carried the program from May 6. Other transmission failures mentioned therein: A few days ago KBS German 2000-2100 via Skelton on 3955 suffered from repeated transmitter break-downs. "Oddity: Merlin has apologized for these breaks even before any listeners complaints reached KBS. Odd, because this rarely happens. The apologies, not the transmission failures." On May 3 Radio Kairo failed to get German on air at all, instead there was only an open carrier on 9900 for 60 minutes. The following program at 2000 again went on air with the usual audio "quality". During the last week Radio Romania International and Radio Bulgaria suffered from transmitter failures as well. I have not monitored it in the small hours as I prefer sleep to radio! The signal strength drops off around midday to about S1. This suggests to me that it possibly is located between 200 and 300 miles from here and that its location must be in the UK or Ireland, perhaps northern England or northern Ireland. (Kristian / Germany - udxf 10/05/2007) Today at 0735UTC I heard lots of USB traffic on 6721,48 with callsigns like E, FA, HB, HA and positionreports. Also tonight at 2110UTC this traffic is still going on. The traffic is in English with Italian accent. Is this part of Combined Endeavor 2007 ? (Max - udxf 11/05/2007) I don't think so. This net is regular active since several weeks on 6721.5 kHz. Always with "Single-Letter"-, "HOTEL xxx"- and "FOXTROT xxx" callsigns. Seems to be Italian Navy. I original thought that this was for a special exercice/event, but "to long" active ;-) Maybe any other member knows for what purpose they are on. Construction progress on the Mahajanga SW site: http://www.sscofc.org/family/bulletins/V_24_07_Feb_18_07.pdf Sunday, February 11 - WCBC Special Contribution - $7,845.09 World Christian Broadcasting - Update from Mahajanga, Madagascar (Madagascar World Voice) - The third shipment carrying antenna earth anchors arrived in Madagascar. The projects that we have completed include building the security fence, drilling a water well, the guard house, miles of road and foundations for other buildings. The earth anchors will be placed over the next few months. Kevin and Nancy left Alaska and are headed back to Madagascar to oversee more construction. The loading of the containers to be shipped from Houston in February includes all the towers, some expensive rigging equipment and $100,000 of building supplies. This is a very expensive shipment, and most is paid for already. Everything will be paid before it is shipped. Our excellent December and January income was extremely helpful in making all of these payments, and our bank has been helpful in providing an open account to us to use as needed. Our prayer is that we WCBC continued . . .will seldom need to use it, and that it will be replenished quickly. The transmitters will be ordered soon. This is a $7 million project. We have raised about $3 million. Madagascar Staff: Kevin and Nancy Chambers and workers from Madagascar.
