4910 VL8T 1238-1313 Apr 7. Country music songs, M&W hosting,
continuing past 1300. Good signal // 2485 (good) and 2310 (fair); 2325,
of course, was off. 2485, again, was nearly 1 second ahead of 4910 and

I monitored 15345 to check out the collision situation,
April 4 at 2136 past 2200. There were three stations, two of them 2 Hz apart,
one in Spanish and one in Arabic, taking turns dominating, along with a
slightly varying heterodyne of some 200 Hz. One of them played some tango
music.

At 2155 I could make out the RAE IS and multilingual IDs including English.
At 2157, from one of the others, ``Madrid para аfrica, magazin de dos horas``.
At 2200, a 6-pip timesignal familiar from hearing REE at other times, followed
a few seconds later by about 8 pips, apparently Morocco.

Now, RAE is starting to dominate, the het diminishes and is gone as both other
carriers go off as scheduled, but not clear exactly when, English ID again, but
opening Spanish broadcast.

станции Xinjiang PBS на 7310 кГц в 13.00. Оно многоязычное, и после
английского языка "Xinjiang People's Radio Station" последовало русское
"Говорит Синьцзянская народная радиостанция". С небольшим акцентом. Потом на
китайском, попроще: "Урумчи квампо дентае".

Где-то в "Дыхании Китая" я читал, что в Синьцзяне живет сколько-то тысяч
русских. Интересно, нет ли там вещания на русском языке? Китай ведь довольно
трепетно относится к информационному обеспечению нац. меньшинств.

Yesterday I also did a park DXpedition, in this case after
work at Leipzig. Actually it was just a little bit of listening to the
radio, but it turned out to be nice graveyard channel DX on 1485: Here I
got between 1530 and 1600 the 300 watts transmitter at Hohenfels, more
than 200 km away, almost as loud as the // 10 kW at Grafenwhr on 1107.
Only obvious interference was the DRM from Berlin, the other AM
transmitters on 1485 were completely inaudible, not even SAH could be
noted. Until 1600 local programming from AFN Bavaria was on air, so it
could not have been any other AFN transmitter than Hohenfels (the other
1485 transmitter of AFN Bavaria at Augsburg is reportedly no longer on
air). Hohenfels has a somewhat muffled modulation, Grafenwhr on 1107 is
better but probably limited to 5 kHz audio response as well, at least it
did not sound particularly good. Both transmitters were in synch as much
as one can tell with one radio. The programming was a standard AC
format, no particular "Jack FM" as AFN claimed when introducing their
"The Eagle" branding.

Just a few days ago, on March 27 or 28, AFN Bavaria shut down the 107.4
transmitter at Frth, so AFN is no longer on air in the Nrnberg area
after the studios of AFN Bavaria were moved from Nrnberg to Vilseck
already in 1994. Time and again the stereo pilot of this transmitter had
been switched on and off again, but the audio remained always a mono
feed; probably it already leaves the studio in mono only because it's
primarily a mediumwave program. Immediately after switching off Frth a
new FM transmitter went on air at Ansbach on 107.3, reportedly carrying
the same AFN Wrzburg (now "AFN Franconia") program than the co-located
1485 transmitter and the other AFN Wrzburg mediumwave outlets on 1143.
It remains to be seen if either this duplication will last or 107.3
eventually carry another program (like Wrzburg's "alternate service").

No April fool's joke: On April 1st again some programs were taken off
DAB ensembles in Germany. This time it concerns various services in
Baden-Wrttemberg and the Schleswig-Holstein ensemble. The latter one,
which is actually a token service with a single 400 watts outlet at Kiel
only, now contains no commercial stations anymore, just like the
Mecklenburg-Vorpommern ensemble which is likewise on air at Schwerin
only. How many years old is the joke that DAB is the abbr. for "Dead And
Buried"? I think it was in 2002 or so when I read it first.

Summary of this discussion: Quite embarassing; such long off-air periods
of 6075 were not common in the past; perhaps Mr. Bettermann had called
up Wertachtal to ask if they could pleeeease....; it's also not uncommon
now that frequencies come on air two minutes late, something that was
unusual in the past as well. Entry from yesterday after 1300: Apparently
they try something, there were just two unsynchronized transmitters on

He estado reportando a LA VOZ DE LA ESPERANZA en 1560 KHz con ubicacion Costa Rica,
pero al parecer esto es errado (?), estuve viendo una bitacora dx en la cual tengo
la siguiente informacion: "data de 15 Noviembre de 1999, en los 1560 KHz, a las 0620
UT con musica Gospel en ingles sin parar, al fin una identificacion de la emisora a
las 0640 UT por locutor "En nuestros estudios 12-43 minutos" ( lo cual me hizo creer
era Costa Rica, osea -4, ya que Panama es -5 igual que en Colombia ), luego solo con
"LA VOZ DE LA ESPERANZA", otra identificacion a las 0656 UT "Radio Adventista presenta
...Nuestra Promesa (mensaje corto) e identificacion "en los 1560 te acompana Radio
Adventista, la Voz de la Esperanza".
Ahora, la reporte 2 abril 2007, a las 0344 UT, nuevamente con musica Gospel, y..."via
Satelite, La Voz de la Esperanza"...de donde viene la senal satelite? Al fin Costa Rica
o Panama, alguien puede informarme algo al respecto. Encontre que en Panama hay reportada
1560 KHz Radio Adventista (corporacion de la asociacion panamena de los adventista del
septimo dia), area de cubrimiento: Provincia de Panama, Lugar: Llano Bonito, Provincia: Panama, Potencia: 10 Kw).

Я это заметил в воскресенье где-то после 15 мск, будучи вдали от Киева.

На 549 раньше были слышны два передатчика с сильным расхождением по
времени (около 3 сек, если не больше). Поэтому слушать "Маяк" было очень
проблематично. Сейчас надо будет понаблюдать, "благо" украинские
передатчики отключены. Все складывается в пользу слушания на СВ и КВ
российских и других иностранных радиопрограмм ввиду отсутствия наличия

Вышел я вечерком, погулял с приемником и компасом вокруг соседней
гимназии, и получилось у меня разнообразие азимутов, которые
укладывались в 90 град. При подходе к гимназии азимут повернул куда-то к
северу. Я это замечал и раньше. Поэтому вышел на пространную спортивную
лужайку подальше от здания и столбов с проводами. Там азимут уверенно
повернул на восток - среднее значение крутилось около 80 град. Это ближе
по азимуту к Новочеркасску, о котором предположил Мауно, хотя по обычной
карте (не азимутальной) он ближе к 115 град. Но это, я думаю,
простительно, учитывая, что на 80 град от Киева ничего маяковского не
предвидится.
Кроме того, магнитная аномалия в этом месте вполне может внести свою
отрицательную поправку в измерения.
Поэтому я тоже склоняюсь к Новочеркасску, что под Ростовом-на-Д..

inaudible here in eastern Germany. All I could make out was a faint
whisper behind a mess of Tunis and Bulgaria, not even sufficient to tell
for sure that this was the same program audio than on 1314 etc., but I
meanwhile got it confirmed that Pori was indeed on air. Can't remember

Наблюдение
20 и 21 марта удавалось принимать передачи HCJB GlobalVoice из Quito на
частоте 9595 кГц. Расстояние по базе данных программы DRMCalc - 14585
километров. Битрейт - 17.46 kbps, stereo. Прием был возможен примерно до 6
часов - до начала работы RAI на частоте 9600 кГц. Аудио сигнал принять не
удалось.

26 марта удалось, наконец-то, принять передачи RNZI из Новой Зеландии.
Причем, немного похвастаюсь, получилось даже первым открыть в летнем сезоне
частоту 9440 кГц среди радиолюбителей Европы на форуме DRM Software radio.
Расстояние по базе данных программы DRMCalc - 14019 км. Удалось даже
принять аудиосигнал, правда, всего на 1-2 секунды, но, тем не менее,
скриншот зафиксировал. Качество, увы, не из лучших - максимальная частота
аудиосигнала не превышает 4.5 - 5 кГц при моносигнале и битрейте 16.56 kbps.
Казалось бы, причем здесь DRM? Публикую скриншот идентификации станции,
input, audio spectrum и waterfall. Еще добавил в коллекцию частоту 15715
кГц, на которой в летнем сезоне транслируется Немецкая Волна из Sines с 9 до
11 часов. С 11 до 14 часов частота меняется на 15725 кГц, но параметры
сигнала остаются прежними - 17.10 kbps, стерео на первом канале и 0.36 kbps
Data Service Journaline - на втором. ID не меняется - 445700 на обеих
частотах.

И немного о летнем расписании. Сенсацией этого сезона, похоже, стало
значительное уменьшение объема трансляций всемирной службы BBC.
Средневолновый передатчик на частоте 1296 кГц в эфире только с 4 до 9 и с 16
до 22 часов. В это же время ВВС можно найти в эфире по очереди только на
одной КВ частоте - 7475 (с 6 до 7), 9470 (7 - 9), 7465 (16 - 18) или 7420кГц
(18 - 22). Для сравнения - Немецкая Волна тестирует 14 частот, RNW - 8
частот, RNZI - и Голос России - 6 частот. На форумах высказываются и
обсуждаются две гипотезы относительно ВВС - техническая, согласно которой
снижение объема вещания связано с заменой передающих центров и носит
временный характер, и концептуально-политическая, подозревают, что
руководство ВВС знает больше, чем говорит на публике, прогнозируя на самом
деле не очень радужные перспективы для развития цифрового DRM радиовещания в
Европе. Кстати, прослушав на dxing.ru выпуск Клуба DX от 25 марта, мне
показалось, что Валентина Краснопольская тоже не сказала всего, что могла
бы, хотя, даже и в этом ее комментарии, у которого, похоже, ГР отрезал
начало и конец, нельзя было не заметить нескрываемой досады и разочарования
ходом развития событий в Европе. Поживем - увидим. Вообще, косвенно можно
оценить ситуацию, например, по признаку идеологической корпоративной
цензуры, которая, по моему мнению, у DRM-консорциума, уже, несомненно, есть,
я не пытаюсь говорить о естественных вещах, о практике внутреннего
администрирования, например, но к чему эти секреты Полишинеля - попробуйте
на официальном сайте консорциума найти обсуждение такой темы, например, как
дропауты сигнала. Там много чего можно найти о преимуществах цифрового
сигнала, но, почему-то, почти ни слова руководство консорциума не может
вразумительно произнести по поводу реальной практики радиоприема на больших
расстояниях и уровне стабильности сигнала. Похоже, что им просто не хочется
ни врать, ни говорить правду. Это, правда, не мешает консорциуму продолжать
рекламировать на экспорт свой, в некоторой степени сомнительный, продукт,
захватывая в сферу финансирования и информационного контроля в основном
развивающиеся страны, которые доверившись в начальной стадии
технологическому превосходству Запада, если и разберутся, как все на самом
деле происходит, но это будет потом, когда уже ничто на многие годы не будет
угрожать финансированию проекта и занятым на его обслуживании
бюрократическим структурам, несмотря на более чем неоднозначную практику

Radio Amazonas en la frecuencia 5130, cuando debera estar establecida desde hace mucho tiempo en su verdadera frecuencia que es 4940 Khz.
En los ultimos dias la hemos escuchado en 5130, 5135 y hasta 5140 Khz, la verdad es que no entiendo como es posible que los tcnicos de esta emisora no se hayan

dado cuenta ahora de este grave problema, aparte de esto la seal se oye demasiado saturada y no se entiende a veces pero nada de lo que hablan sus locutores.

Creo que mejor sera sacarla del aire, arreglar el problemn del equipo transmisior y no estar dando golpes en la onda corta.

Otra captacin que pude hacer el dia de hoy a las 13:15 UTC fue la seal en ingles de WWCR en los 9955 Khz, con muy buena seal; pero luego volvi a escuchar esta

frecuencia a las 13:48 UTC y estaba al aire el programa del colega diexista Glenn Hauser "Mundo Radial" en ingles, lo que pude notar al rato es que cuando el

colega Glenn Hauser estaba pasando las informaciones, la misma fue cortada bruscamente, se identific a la radio y se hicieron comentarios noticiosos. En pocas

palabras, el programa Mundo Radial fue cortado bruscamente y no se di tiempo a que el colega Glenn Hauser lo despidiera y para colmo de males la emisora

En realidad era WRMI en 9955 con World of Radio. Yo tambin escuchaba lo que
pas esta maana. El programa comenz tarde, problema comn en WRMI, pero WEWN,
la siguiente emisora en 9955, funciona a tiempo, con portadora desde 1359, y
programacin noticiosa aunque catlica desde 1400. Entretanto, WRMI cort su
emisin en 9955 para cambiar a 7385, y el ltimo minuto o dos de WOR salieron
por esta frecuencia. Ya ped a Jeff White que por favor no comenzaran WOR ms

typical over-modulation and Brasilian pop on 15410. I don't think this
is a precise 5khz drift from 15415.
Any ideas?
Last night at a similar time 11780 was 34333 with Radio Amazonia.

It's Voz Crista from Chile beaming to Brazil in Portuguese 1100-2400,
still through now (2206) except they now seem to be having a technical
problem, was Ok earlier but now everything is running fast so it's
like listening to a Portuguese version of the Chipmunks, for those old
enough to remember them :)

And taking another look at the CVC sked in 7-040, we see that there is another
jam-up of three transmitters on one band, 49m:

5960 Spanish at 08-12
6070 Spanish at 23-13
6110 Portuguese at 04-11 [axually 6109.77v, so mixes would be off too
making hets if anything is next to them]

So here are those hypothetical mixing frequencies, and times they would be on;
being closer together and not so far out of band, they will be harder to spot,
and more likely to blocked by legit signals:

5810v = 6110v over 5960 P/S at 08-11, 150 kHz apart
5850 = 6070 over 5960 S/S at 08-12, 110 kHz
6030v = 6110v over 6070 P/S at 04-11, 40 kHz
6150v = 6070 over 6110v S/P at 04-11, 40 kHz
6180 = 5960 over 6070 S/S at 08-12, 110 kHz
6260v = 5960 over 6110v S/P at 08-11, 150 kHz

6030v would normally be totally buried by R. Mart and Cuban jamming but during
the dentro/fuera-Cuban truce UT Mondays, could well be enough to block the new
Radio ICDI, Central African Republic, should it actually be on and propagating
from *0500. Note that 5810v could also be confused with the Colombian
6010v/5910v leapfrog which we know exists --- not to mention CVC fundamental
6110v confusing with the other Colombian mix on 6110v. WEWN is currently
switching from 5810 to 5850 at 0500. Other possible mixes of CVC could be
worked out, but they would have to be between transmitters on different bands,

but mixing with a utility station on 6430, 2 x 3215,
at 0015-0030+ April 3. Also hearing a very weak WWRB
harmonic on 6370, 2 x 3185.
Heard here on a Tentec RX-340 & AOR-7030+, with a 100'
outdoor longwire & 30' indoor wire. I tried attenuation
but the signal was weaker but still there. I don't usually

BBC World Service has changed its shortwave
transmissions in some parts of the world, in line with
listener trends in radio.
Increasing numbers of people around the world are
choosing to listen to radio on a range of other
platforms including FM, satellite and online, with
fewer listening on shortwave.

Please note broadcasts in English to Eastern and
Central Europe on shortwave have stopped.

English shortwave broadcasts to Southern Europe have
been reduced to 12 hours a day and Arabic language
shortwave broadcasts to the Middle East have been
reduced to 14 hours.

In both cases the shortwave listening times of early
morning and evening have been retained.

This will be a loss to some listeners but there are a
number of alternative ways of hearing BBC programmes.

Le "Guide" de la Jamahiriya s'est ofert la radio
Africa n?1 mais ne sait pas encore trop quoi en
faire. C'est top secret : le colonel Kadhafi a
rachete pour 5 millions € au president Omar Bongo
la radio Africa n?1. Cette radio franco-gabonaise
qui emet en Afrique et en France perd beaucoup de
sous ces temps-ci. Une aubaine donc et une "belle
culbute" financiere pour le Gabon qui n'a paye
l'annee derniere a la Sofirad - la societe
financiere de radiodifusion qui gere les
participations de l'Etat francais - que 700 000 €
les 49% d'interets qu'elle detenait dans Africa n?1.

L'operation s'est faite a travers la Libyan Arab
Africa Investment Company (LAAICO) presidee par
Bashir Saleh Bashir, le directeur de cabinet du
"Guide" de la Jamahiriya. Le missi dominici du
president Bongo pour boucler ce dossier est le
Beninois Arnauld Houndete, patron de l'agence de
communication Voodoo et du magazine Continental
(voir Who's Who LC n?513). Mais il y a un petit
souci : les Libyens veulent se debarrasser d'une
partie des 250 employes de la radio. "Pas
question" a dit le Palais du bord de mer…On en est la.

NDM2005: Pendant de longues annees Africa a ete
une veritable vache a lait pour la Sofirad
(l'ancien proprietaire francais) et aussi pour sa
direction gabonaise (ou meme pour la presidence
gabonaise (1)). Chaque annee, par l'exploitation
de ses emetteurs de Moabi, aupres des chaines
japonaises, entre autres, Africa degageait une
marge a faire palir d'envie les radios
continentales de ce type. Ce tresor de guerre a ete joyeusement consomme.

Aujourd'hui, avec l'ere du numerique et du net
les emetteurs de Moabi ne sont plus aussi
createurs de valeur qu'ils l'ont ete de par le
passe. En meme temps la radio panafricaine a rate
de faire les bons choix. Elle est toujours aussi
peu presente sur le net. Son effectif est
toujours aussi plethorique (250 personnes). Et
surtout elle est redevenue tres tres gabonaise
avec une dependance inacceptable vis a vis des pouvoirs en place.

Africa n.1, la Voix d'une certaine idee de
l'Afrique, s'est resolue a n'etre que la Voix
d'Omar pour finalement bientot devenir la Voix de Kadhafi.

D'autre part, RFI en multipliant les bandes FM
nationales a contribue a tuer (comme Air France a
trucide Air Gabon) cette radio des Africains par
les Africains. Air Gabon, Africa n.1, Gabon
Poste, Gabon Telcom, Mbanie, a qui le tour?

Adieu Africa

(1) Comme toutes les entreprises et
administrations "vache a lait" evoluant au Gabon,
la Presidence Gabonaise (ou meme le ministere de
tutelle) a toujours eu la possibilite de les
ponctionner de maniere totalement arbitraire en
prelevant du cash pour satisfaire les besoins de
nos dirigeants; un peu comme si pour payer un
nouveau jouet pour votre fils, vous passiez
recuperer de l'argent au distributeur du coin.

Les entreprises evoluant au Gabon sont des
guichets automatiques "potentiels" de billets de
banque. J'ai personnellement vu les mouvements de
fonds... En francais, ca s'appelle "abus de bien
sociaux", "detournement de fonds" ou mieux RACKET.

A report in the 6 April edition of The Herald (Zimbabwe government
newspaper) says the new SW radio station oft-mentioned recently will
go on air imminently, i.e. before Independence Day anniversary on 18
April.

The information minister announced this after meeting the Iranian
ambassador. Iran has assisted in refurbishment of studios (but the
article made no mention of aid for transmitters). The report confirmed
that the new service would broadcast from the Gweru (Guinea Fowl) SW
transmitter site.

формате Microsoft Word я также сделал скриншот с этого рапорта и
вложил в качестве рисунка формата JPG, на тот случай если эти
сотрудники захотят распечатать рапорт на своем рабочем компьютере, а
кириллических шрифтов у них не окажется. Спустя 25 дней была получена
QSL "Crac de Chevaliers, Homs, Syria". Кроме карточки в конверте было
рукописное письмо на русском с просьбой в следующий раз задавать
интересующие вопросы. Эта QSL дала для меня новую станцию и новую
страну.

Всего в коллекции 93 QSL от 34 станций, подтверждено 96 частот, 18 зон
