Абхазия
9495: A common frequency for several stations
from Caucasus. Radio Sochi in Russian, noted at 0730 on 10/02.
Apsua/Abkhaz Radio at 0445 in Abkhaz on 2/2 and // to 9535. Weekdays
from 0710 is Radio Kuban, Krasnodar here in Russian regularly heard.
9535 is used only in time 0400-0900 when Abkhaz radio is on the air
only (Rumen Pankov, Sofia, Bulgaria (Sony ICF-2001, Longwire), March
Australian DX News via DXLD) But I thought this was all from the same
transmitter, which is slightly off-frequency (gh, DXLD)

Well, that is what he means: "several radio stations from Caucasus" (via
the same tx on 9495), i.e. not "several radio transmitters from Caucasus".
It was in the early 1990s when Abkhaz State Radio started to fill vacant
airtime with relays of Radio Rossii, presumably picked up from FM across
the border and since that FM frequency (appearantly Sochi's 71.93MHz)
carries also regional programming from Sochi and Krasnodar, the txs in

Hadn't it been reported years ago that these relays are unauthorized?
I seem to recall Radio Sochi as source of such a statement, made to
explain a refusal to QSL this shortwave outlet.

It would also be an interesting question if the Sochi transmitters
can be picked up at the Radio Abkhazia studios, not less than 120 km
away. Probably these relays are a bit more complicated and done with
a remote receiver, connected to an audio circuit. In fact the
shortwave transmissions of the now defunct Sunshine Radio from
Belgium were done this way: A receiver at Aachen picked up their low-
powered FM signal and the audio had been fed to Jülich.

I even wonder if they are particularly interested in the programming
from neighbouring Radio Sochi, since it probably would have been less
trouble to catch a plain Radio Rossii feed off satellite (as Radio
Volga at Potsdam did during the nineties, no longer relying on
external sources, i.e. feeds via postal office circuits).

R. Solh, 15265, plays some great music which we often
listen to until 1500* But there is a lot of repetition; must have a limited
library. One song we hear over and over ran again March 1 until 1457 for about
5 minutes. It has a rapid and increasing beat, with clapping and shouting,
refrain played on an accordion-like instrument, the performers obviously having
a great time. Sure would like to get this off a webcast if there were any, but
I wonder if anyone knows more about it, or could even translate the lyrix, at

final transmission today. I don`t see anything about the same fate for English,
on their website, but it might pay to make a point of listening tonight anyway.

Tonight I got my first confirmed reception of the Voice of
Guyana in several months. They were coming in with a fair signal at 0337 UT on
3291.1. The usual utility QRM was causing some problems along with a good
amount of static. The program consisted on funeral announcements and messages
to relatives regarding the death of a loved one. Somber music was played
between announcements. An ID followed at 0359 then into BBC news at 0400. I
hadn't heard of the return of this station so I was a little surprised to hear

3291.17 Noted at tune-in 2335 to 0007, GBC back with
subcontinental vocal music, "...the makers of them are..." music went
through 0000 with not announcements and orchestral music to 0005; yl

there so I switched on BFO to look for carrier dropoffs. Yes, one happened in a
few seconds. Audio on the two was unsynchronized, an echo apart due to the

EiBi, shows 9600 and 6140, which I had not checked, but 5965 may replace it. He
has 5965 in Creole during this semi-hour, and who knows, that may be the case
other days of week. Also, Praga Spanish via Canadá 6000 was in the clear at

Pacific Missionary Aviation is testing its new SW transmitter on
4755.16 to 4755.17, as discovered in Japan by H. Yokoi and S. Hasegawa, first
as an unID, heard there as early as 0830 and as late as 1300; only 500 watts.
It`s in the UT +11 timezone, so darkness hours are approximately 07-19 UT.
Frequency seems to be clear so should make it beyond Pacific Rim; too high

17660, Feb 27 at 1530, during the minute before
co-channel Afropop went off, could be heard with a timesignal running about 5
seconds slow --- not suitable for navigation! And introducing Informations with
a Sousa(?) march, starting with diplomatic meeting between Egypt and France

It was hard to make out in the noise floor, but I think at 1707 check
there were indeed traces of a carrier on 17660, probably the Riyadh
transmitter still on air after 1700.

21600 did aim at Western Africa rather than Europe and apparently 17660
again does, so the frequency selection could still be appropriate for
this target area, not prone to fade out there.

Feb 28 I started monitoring 17660 at 1435 to find out when I
could first detect a subaudible heterodyne on Afropop music distraxion, Gabon,
from BSKSA on its new frequency in French. That happened at 1452, probably
shortly after they turned it on. However, this date, hi-latitude propagation
was poor on higher frequencies, lacking Greece 17525, Libya 17725, even Morocco

announcement loops. One by female voice, the other
by male alternating. Signal was good but the audio a bit muffled.
Not sure about the language(s), the female voice sounded
a bit Arabic flavoured. Anyway, lot of mentions of Somalia
and in between the announcements the familiar "rewind sound".
Both announcements mentioned website www.marlobahrain.org.
So, a Coalition Maritime Forces/Marlo broadcast to or about
pirates along the Somali coast. Went off around 1855.

strong signal on 3965. S9+30 up to S9+70 !!!!
I have not received such a strong signal from any station since Radio
Moscow in the late 1980s, evenings on 49m. In contrast, the local
mediumwave station about a mile and a half away is only S9+45.

Just as I tuned in a good signal on 11820, March 4 at 2327,
heard YL ID in English as Radio Veritas Asia, Quezón City, and that next
broadcast at 2330 would be in Kachin on 9645; a bit of horn music followed, but

nuestro centro emisor en Sudamerica. En esta oportunidad con una programacion
de 90% en espanol. Tambien tendremos saludos para los que nos enviaron informes
de recepcion o mensajes por nuestras transmisiones de enero. El esquema es como
sigue:

Desde manana miercoles 28 de febrero hasta el lunes 5 de marzo (terminando el 5
marzo a las 09 UT). Horas de transmision: 2200-0900 UT (sab y dom hasta las 11
UT). Como ya mencionado la frecuencia es la de 6307 kHz y una potencia de 20
vatios.

Dentro de 2 semanas mas o menos, estaran ya en vuestras manos las QSL's por los

TA conditions surged around 06:30. The X band was particularly good at
this time, in fact some of the biggest signals I have ever heard on the
ewe antenna here! 1640 WTNI was almost like a local. There were pile-ups
on many TA frequencies.

Липецк
Со вчерашнего дня (4 марта 2007 года) было прекращено вещание Радио
Шансон на Липецк и Липецкую область на частоте 104,6 МГц. Вместо неё с
8 марта планируется начало вещания Love Radio.
Сейчас на частоте, в перемешку с объявлениями о предстоящим начале
вещания,крутят обычную попсу(ничем не отличающееся от Русского Радио,
с тем лишь отличием, что иногда разбавляют англоязычными песнями о
любви).
Это уже третья радиостанция, которая будет вещать в Липецке
на этой частото в этом тысячелетии.
Напомню: сначало это было Русское Радио, которое покинуло
липецкий эфир, спустя ровно год, после появления и появившееся спустя
какое-то время в Липецке на 100,5 МГц.
Затем сразу же появилось на 104,6 Радио Шансон. Теперь настал черёд

At 2318 on 4032 man repeating a message pos recorded on chip with what
sounds like RTTY data or a bad telephone ringing.

At 2320 two people are on the link, the audio is very rough very
restricted / distorted and could pos be carb type broc as it repeats.

At 2324 the RTTY data ceases and what sounds like STANAG appears

At 2326 The RTTY type data returns for approx 10 seco then back to STANAG

This switching went until 2348 when the link was cut

BBC Monitoring observes that the former Radio Monte Carlo - Moyen Orient
(Middle East) now identifies on air as "Monte Carlo Doualiya"
(International), which is reflected in a new website address:
www.mc-doualiya.com. The station broadcasts in Arabic to the Middle East and
North Africa on mediumwave 1233 kHz via a powerful transmitter located in
Cyprus. It is also relayed on a network of FM transmitters situated
throughout the region, on 5925 and 7135 kHz shortwave (0500-0600 gmt only)
and on a live audio stream accessed from their website.

Monte Carlo Doualiya is part of the French state-owned Radio France group.

take place this week from Pulau Layang Layang (AS-051) in the Spratly
Island group, March 10-19th. Operators will include members of the

В Пскове начнут вещание радио "Ретро" и "Динамит FM".
Как передает корреспондент "Псковской Ленты Новостей",
конкурс на вещание радио "Ретро FM" на частоте 102,6 FM
выиграло структурное подразделение медиахолдинга
"Гражданская пресса" ООО "Рекламное агентство "Бумеранг".

Конкурс на вещание "Динамит FM" на частоте 104,6 FM
выиграло ООО "Регион Сервис".

Заседание Федеральной конкурсной комиссии по телерадиовещанию состоялось
сегодня, 28 февраля, в Москве. Всего на конкурс было подано 15 заявок, в
основном из Пскова. Добавим, что в медиахолдинг "Гражданская пресса" входят
газета "Московский Комсомолец в Пскове и Великих Луках", радиостанции
"Европа Плюс", "Наше Радио", информационное агентство "Псковская Лента

В северной столице прекращено вещание
"Православного радио Санкт-Петербурга", "Радонежа" и
радиостанции "Слово".

В северной столице с 4 марта прекращено вещание "Православного радио
Санкт-Петербурга", "Радонежа" и радиостанции "Слово", сообщает корреспондент
"Портала-Сredo.Ru".

Три радиостанции являлись субарендаторами радио "Нерс", занимавшего частоту
684 kHz. Она куплена другим арендатором, и действовавшие договоры
расторгнуты. Таким образом, резко сокращено православное вещание на всем
Северо-Западе. Единственной станцией, продолжающей вещать в
Санкт-Петербурге, остался "Град Петров", - официальное СМИ
Санкт-Петербургской митрополии РПЦ МП, работающее в FM-диапазоне.

Руководитель "Православного радио" и директор завода АТИ Сергей Васильев
надеется возобновить вещание на диапазоне средних волн. Одну из его частот
ранее занимал "Град Петров", эта частота по-прежнему принадлежит
епархиальному радио. На ней же, в случае благословения правя щего архиерея
митрополита Владимира (Котлярова), надеется продолжить вещание на
Санкт-Петербург радиостанция "Радонеж".

Гораздо меньше шансов возвращения в эфир имеет радиогазета "Слово",
пропагандировавшая коммунистическую идеологию. На ней был "Православный
час", который редактировал лидер движения "За право жить без ИНН, микрочипов
и личных кодов" Валерий Филимонов. Писатель давно заслужил репутацию
"оппозиционера" - в его передачах звучала критика РПЦ МП как отступившей от

Череповец
Радиостанция Авторадио зазвучала в Череповце.

Теперь (с 1 марта - ВГ) радиостанцию можно услышать в Череповце (Вологодская
область) на частоте 101,2 МГц. Региональный партнер - ООО "Русское
радио-Вологда".

"Авторадио" основано в 1993 году. Частота - 90,3 FM, УКВ 68. Вещает более
чем в 300 городах России, стран ближнего и дальнего зарубежья. Входит в ЗАО
"Вещательная корпорация "Проф-Медиа" (ВКПМ).
