This gave me a nice hint of the good reception I
expect to have for Wavescan this weekend. Curiosly
Glenn, you mentioned no reception in OK, as their back
lobe (255 degrees) is beaming directly to the North
American Continent, and I'm receiving it so well in a

but gradually improving as my local sunset approaches.  Mostly music.  I'm unable
to hear any talk as I've monitored the past 45 minutes, but I suspect I wouldn't
hear anything anyway.  S6 to S7 on my 7030+, but that's mostly noise, I think.
 Signal is visible on the Icom 756Pro2, but the 7030+ in AMS is beating the 756
without a doubt.  My Harris RF-590 is performing almost as well, with the Collins
HF-2050 a poor third, and
the NRD-535D hearing essentially nothing.  Fun to rate the various receivers!
 Take home message:  AMS is very useful, especially on very weak signals, if
it can sync!. Nothing on so-called fundamental of 3306. Continues to improve
as I type this at 00:12 with African high-life music.

(also referred to as Amahai on some maps) on the island of Seram in the
Moluccas) on 1/28 from 1230 to 1430 recording (this would be 2130-2330 E.
Indonesian Time, UTC +9). This is close to Ambon, which is on a neighboring
island. Signals were a decent S2, ocnly peaking to S2+ to S3 w/ periodic
RTTY-type ute QRM. Checking back through an old WRTH (2000), this ID/QTH
agrees w/ current entry for this freq in the 2005 PWBR, even though 2005
WRTH shows an ID of RSPK Ngada at QTH of Bajawa, Flores on Timor for this
freq. I guess the only way I'll ever find out is to send a report to Masohi
and see what happens! Anyway, SINPO 24432. Man ann 1230, vocal/inst piece
1230.5-1234.5, man ann w/ what sounded like nx 1235 to 1249.5, another man
ann to 1251.5, inst mx to 1253.5, man ann to 1301, another vocal/inst pop
song to 1305.5 and so on.recording was remarkably consistent through the 2
hrs. Nominal sign off is around 1410-15 but signal still going at 1430
although starting to fade. No sign of RSPK Ngada on nominal 3517 or RPD

During my recent Dx-pedition KIVES5 in Finland, on 12th January I was able to
catch a Spanish language station on 830 kHz around 0300 UTC/GMT. It sounded like
"Radio Borivo" to me. The station had lots of commercial announcements, one of
them was "San Antonio de los Alto". The program consisted of sports phone-in-talk
and several commercials.
Does anyone know, what this one could be? I also heard a Brazilian station on
the same frequency later. Any clues are welcomed.

Not much this days on MW; the only really interesting reception was HIAF-580
last night. I really hope either for a come-back of the October-like high-latitude
TA furry or for a classic auroral opening like in the beginning of December 2000
when Colombia-610 and Rumbos-670 were booming in ! Still nice to listen to almost
every night to Radio Progreso 890, with great musical programming. 

I'm buzzy with physical training, so I missed Radio Triple SH Peru on 5700v,
but I'll try for them the next days.

Nice QSL card from Radio Six for the Latvia relay in about 2 weeks 
for report to Scotland and $1 US. Fun station, really enjoy them. I 
was excited to see them relay via WBCQ on Sunday's but there is 
terrible QRM or transmitter noise at my location in Eastern NC.

and Dec 31 2005 receptions and sched folder in 16d for letter report, CD
recordings and $1. QSL signer Brian Stokoe. Oh, that all stations were as
complete, accurate and prompt as ZLXA! Also nice letter saying CD's would be
passed to station manager and verifying that I had correctly computed local
time for Dec reception. December and January are Summer Time in NZ (local
time is UTC + 13 in their summer, +12 otherwise). Also indicated that NZ
uses the term UTC rather than GMT, which I still tend to use in my
reports.Brian is a DXer himself, which explains the superb QSL responses
