Габон
I have what sounds like Gabon on 4770, modulation seems low and fading. I think
I'll try to ID them at 0700 UTC; otherwise I'll give it a shot later this season.
(Bogdan Alexadru Chiochiu, Pierresfords, Canada - CumbreDX 1372)

If 4770 was not a typo for 4777 is more likely NBC Kaduna, Nigeria. For some
time it has been very irregular, when on the modulation is very low, sometimes
I have heard what I assume is them with just a strong carrier as well.

If you did mean 4777 it would be Gabon, hear them most mornings when I check
here but their modulation is usually fairly good.

On the subject of low modulation have seen a couple of mentions of Nepal 5005.3
lately, like Kaduna I usually find what I assume is them on 5005.3 on late
evening checks around 0000 but the modulation is very low making content of the
broadcast unintelligible. (Mike WB, USA - CumbreDX 1372)

Гондурас
4830.08 Radio Litoral, Honduras? I was listening to the AIR station
here when another distorted signal come on at 1215. Very distorted but
seemed to be Spanish with mostly talk. Fading by about 1250. Too
distorted to understand, but if I had to guess, I would say that Radio
Litoral is trying to reactivate their SW transmitter, which
has been off for quite some time. (Hans Johnson Dec 30, Ochopee, Florida - CumbreDX
1370)

4819.2 La Voz evangelica with a px about family problems. Very good at 0020.
3249.7 R Luz y Vidas , id, music and song.. Good at 0115.
3291.1 La Voz de Misiones with nice music. The old "Buena Sera" with rel.

mixed it up with Guyana on 3291.1 kHz (Claes Olsson, Fl, usa - CumbreDX 1371)

3249.7, R. Luz y Vida, San Pedro Sula; 0612-0911, poor/fair on 06/01/01. Suddenly
P`yongyang was shut down at 0910. I heard the great signal and canned ID. "...
Santa Barbara para Honduras y el mundo. Transmite R. Luz y Vida, HRPC..." then
P`yongyang came back (Hideki WATANABE, Radio Nuevo Mundo, JAPAN - dxld 6002)

Израиль
Kol Israel --- The new frequency of 13855 (see DXLD 6-001) was heard again on
Monday Jan. 2, starting at 1500 UT and continuing to 1625 with excellent strength.
My copy of a schedule shows Persian (Farsi) at this time and 13580 is listed
as an alternative or reserve frequency. The Kol Israel IS was heard from 1625
to 1630 then music to 1645. Time pips at 1645 and mention of Kol Israel, then
music and talk (in presumed Hebrew) to 1655. I couldn't find any parallel frequencies.
After 1655 and to 1800 the same
as reported Jan.1 but fading caused signal to be very weak (Bernie O'Shea, Ottawa,
Ontario, DX LISTENING DIGEST) Also quite good here (gh, OK, DXLD 6002)

Индия
4960 AIR Ranchi Dec.27. 1358-1535 f/out This morning got a positive
logging of Ranchi on 4960. Initially heard with a strong signal, but
audio was some what muffled at tune-in. At first I thought it might be
CRN, but the format did not match. Indian style of music played with
comments by announcer in Hindi, from 1358-1411. A drum Roll was heard,
followed with a commentary feature by male announcer, who seemed to
mention about the recent recovery in Southern India (Tsunami) 1428 a
short musical brief played, with pause at 1530, with a possible ID by
YL.A single Chime or Bell note was heard after the announcements by the
female announcer. The rest of the pgm ( from 1430 to 1501 was a Variety
Program of some of the Nicest Indian Sitar Music played, ranging from
Ballads to modern vocals, all presented by female singers. 1503 there
was a single Bell tone, a short advertisement, then back to more Indian
Music. From 1508 to 1514 this Variety Program was this featured, then at
1514 went into some sort of Drama Program, featured live sounds from a
Market or SeaShore, with sounds of haggling by locals. 1529:30 Program
was cut in-mid sentence, pause 3+1 Time Notes,( which was cut in
mid-note) then what sounded like the relay of AIR news, but it was cut,
then partial clips, ( there must have been a problem with the audio feed
or something)as the news was totally inaudible. By 1535 the signal was
just audible at Best. By far, the Best reception of this station so
far. Signal peaked at around 1440 + (as local sunrise was just
begining-first light) to about 1520 at which, it ( the signal ) started
to deteriorate back into the noise. Thanks to Hans Johnson for pointing
out what the Bell/Chime Notes mean. (Edward Kusalik, ALB, USA - CumbreDX 1368)

5040 AIR Jeypore 12/29 from 0050 tune to 0115 fade w/ local music.
This AIR regional has only a short window for the morning program into SoCal

same time period. (Bruce Churchill, Fallbrook, CA, usa - CumbreDX 1369)

Alan Davies' tip about the reactivation on dxld. This would almost make it

Мали
should be so enthraled to express "Bingo!" on this
ocassion. What must be a common issue for many DXers
with top of the line tabletop receivers and
specialized antennas I just got it with this sort of
toy, ICF 7600 GR.

What really makes it remarkable is my first time
receiving an African signal on the 25mb. after 15.30.
But there it was this morning Dec. 29, RTM Bamako on
11960, closing a local musical segment at 15.40. For
the next 20 minutes this female announcer went on to
the mike dealing with many topics from football (the
real one) to several "boite postal" adresses. Of
course, all in french. More local pop music at exactly
1600 till nearly fading after 16.30. SINPO 25232. RTM
is listed with just 50 KW. in the Africalist. I guess
that made my day for the remaining of this ?05.

good for reception @ 6000khz .

MW reception has been spotty at best. I have been focusing my MW interests

Radio Spaceshuttle International, RSI, will celebrate New
Year's time 31st December-1st January being on air for Europe on
frequencies of 9270-9290 kHz morning-daytimes and for North-America
13810 and 15800-10/ 15865-15875 kHz daytime UTC (Please try these also
in Europe). Very best musical Season Wishes to all of you dear
listeners!
We faced severe problems during Xmastime, so we had to delate
transmissions on 3927 and 6240 kHz (both antenna problems). Also
difficulties with 19 and 22 mb antenna mastworks (so no possibilities
to change directons from North-America to Europe there). It might be
same situation during New Years time, so 31 mb 9270-9290 will serve
Europe a. 08-10 UTC and 19 and 22 mb transmissions are tests towards
NA... from 12 to 15 UTC (WE ARE TRYING TO HAVE EUROPEAN DIRECTION
ANYWAY ALSO on 19 and 22 MB- and if luck we shall be there ( from a. 10
to 13 UTC)... Mainly on 13810 kHz 22 mb (Hans Johnson, Ochopee, Florida - CumbreDX

New Year's Eve Radio East Cost Holland and Voice of the Netherlands will be
carrying their traditional joint "end of the year" broadcast.
The broadcast will start quite early in the morning and the end will be some
time in the (late) afternoon.
Most likely pxs can be heard on 6275 kHz/ 48 metres and surprisingly also
on 1584 kHz. The latter AM frequency will be used to reach local and
regional audiences.
Important: response to the live pxs is more than welcome. Both stations
don't use the Hoogeveen maildrop anymore, so what left is e-mail or the
phone. No QSLs
cards will be available.
For International calls use the Int. accesscode +31-6- 25426740 . Within The
Netherlands the number is 0625426740.
Alternatively you can e-mail < eastcoastholland@hotmail.com >.

(Bogdan Chiochiu, Pierrefonds,

США
I struggled for 2 hours this morning to ID the US station on 1700 khz.
Signal gradually got stronger around 0700 utc and the peak took place about
local sunrise hee.
It was a national programme about 2006 predictions (how original !!) .There
was a "Doctor " on the line talking about earthquakes (how smart !!) .
There were commercials, one with a phone number starting 866.
The news at the top of the hour included the slogan "newsradio".
They did not sound local at all.
The station identification included "talk about it" and the city name ended
by "ville" which pretty much leaves us with Huntsville AL or Brownsville TX.
Antenna (ALA1530 Loop active) was beamed to Iceland. All other channel empy
(1510, 1470,1390,1660,1680)
Show resuming was introduced by Moroder's "midnight express theme" at 0605.
First minutes after 0700 Here Comes The Sun by G Harrisson .

I logged on to WEUP website (seems to be associated to WEUV but the live
stream was Gospel music which did not at all match what I had in my
receiver headphones).
Maybe WEUV and WEUP are 2 separate stations, one for Gospel and one for
preaching.(Patrice Privat, Paris, France - hard-core-dx 37, 3)

QSL

Киргизия
4010 Kyrgyz Radio rcvd letter and paper QSL in 16 d for f/up
e-mail report to snbckr@hotmail.kg and ntrk@ktr.kg so not sure which address
got the report there. Letter and QSL (latter also had an official station
seal) were signed by K.S. Moldokasymov, President, National Telebroadcasting
Corporation. Reception was from Nov 18 2004 and corresponded to audio file
uploaded to DXplorer S&S shortly thereafter. Original report sent 12/07/04
w/ registered mail, return receipt - got the receipt, but no QSL from that
report! Tnx to a CumbreDX item from 12/14/05 for the e-mail address and
name. Interestingly the letter had corrections for year and time zone and
another e-mail address of hofnung.Lena@mail.ru was at the bottom of the ltr,
almost like another station official reviewed the letter before it left. EE
had interesting grammar (but much better than my Russian, Hi!) but I was
very happy to get this... (Bruce Churchill, Fallbrook, CA - CumbreDX 1373)
