Здравствуйте!
 Проверяем домашнее задание.
1.    A piano is much havier than a table.
2.    Не didn't tell  anybody about it.
3.    Could you do me a favour?
Запомните это сочетание DO A FAVOUR.
Запишите на ту страницу, на которой вы записываете сочетания с глаголом do в значении «делать».

4The store has two lifts and neither of them is working.
5.It was more difficult than we had expected.

6. They are used  to playing tennis every Sunday.

Do not confuse I AM USED TO ( DOING) SOMETHING ( BE/ GET  USED TO) with  I USED TO DO.
They are different in structure and in meaning.
I'M USED TO DO SOMETHING= something isn't strange for me.
I'm used to the weather in this country.
Я привыкла к погоде в этой стране.( в данное время у меня есть такая привычка)
I'm used to driving on the left because I’ve lived in Britain  a long time.
I USED TO DO SOMETHING means only that I did something  regularly
in the PAST . You can't use this structure for the PRESENT.

These days are usually stay in bed until late. But when I   had  a job , I used to get up early.( я привык)

7.    My friend doesn't enjoy science fiction books and neither do I.

8. He was so excited  that he could hardly speak.
 А теперь еще раз сравним употребление Past Simple и Present Perfect.

PRESENT PERFECT OR PAST SIMPLE.
Do not use the Present Perfect when you are talking  about  a  finished
time in the past \for ex. yesterday, two years ago, in  1979,  when  I was a child./ Use a past tense.
Tom lost his key yesterday. Did you see the  film  on  television
last night? Mr Greaves retired from his job two years ago. I ate a lot of sweets when I was a child.

Use a past tense to ask when something happened
    What time did they arrive? When were you born?
Compare: Tom has lost his key. --Here we are not thinking of the  past action , we are thinking of the present result of the action.:  he  is without his key now.
Tom lost his key yesterday. ---Here we are thinking of the  action  in
the past. We don't know whether Tom is still without his key.

А теперь домашнее задание.

1.    While we (fish) someone came to the house and (leave)
this note for us.
2.    The exam just (begin) and the candidates (write) their
names at the top of their papers.

3. I lit the fire at 6.00 and it (burn) brightly when Jame
(come) in at 7.00.
4, When I arrived the lecture (start) already and the professor (write) something on the blackboard.
5.. He was very polite. Whenever his wife (enter) the room
he (stand) up.
6. The pupil asked the teacher how that word (pronounce).

1.He worked hard but achieved ( a little, little).
2. I have ( a few, little, a little) friends.
3. Does she want ( some, much, any) new dresses?
4. He isn't going ( somewhere, anywhere, nowhere) today.
5. This isn't his book, it is ( my, mine).
6. I couldn't find ( no, any) books  by  this  writer  at  the  school library.
7.I haven't ( much, many) time for study.
