I was very upset when IBM removed the "Space Used" column from Domino Administrator client because "with DAOS in 8.5, Space Used has much less obvious meaning when it comes to a Notes Database".
I don't use DAOS, and "Space Used" column still has the same meaning to me. Apparently, I am not alone, because after many requests, IBM brought the column back in 8.5.2.
A quote from Domino Administrator Help 8.5.2:
In 8.5.1 the Space Used column was removed from the Files tab in the Domino Administrator client, but in 8.5.2 it is visible again. It will display a value of "N/A" when there is no current calculation of its value.
For performance reasons, used space in a Notes database is not continuously tracked or calculated frequently. It is calculated only in the following cases:
A user clicks the "% used" button on the "i" tab in the database's Properties box.
The Notes database is compacted to reduce the file size.
Fixup is run on the Notes database.
The server that hosts the Notes database is set to enforce database quotas using the "Check space used in file when adding a note" quota enforcement method.
Note: If the administrator is using "Check space used in file when adding a note" as the quota enforcement method, and none of the other actions are performed, Space Used is calculated only once daily.
I use "Check space used in file when adding a note" as the quota enforcement method. I compact --B daily and I tried clicking the "% used" button, and I can tell you that all of the above is true only for databases under 2GB in size.
Databases between 2 and 4GB show N/A no matter what, between 4 and 6GB -- numbers in hundreds and thousands %, and over 6GB (I have one of those) -- again N/A.
I opened a PMR with IBM. They were able to reproduce the issue, admitted that a regression was introduced in 8.5.2 and promised to fix it.
If you are not using DAOS and "Space Used" column is still of value to you, watch for a hotfix or a new Domino Administrator release to restore the column to its former glory.

It would be nice to have a "Bookmark All Tabs" option in Lotus Notes with an additional option to "Bookmark Selected Tabs"...another option to allow a user to select multiple database icons under workspace and have the option to "Bookmark Selected Database Icons", etc.
After getting past the basics of XPage development most developers I know add Package Explorer as a standard view within DDE. It makes sense to me to have this added by default. It would help those starting to learn XPages to take notice of this view and hopefully gain a wider view and understanding of how an XPage based application is structured - especially froma Java perspective.
In Symphony version 3 you can embed objects from other Symphony tools (e.g. a spreadsheet in a document). But you cannot embed any Symphony object on a Notes document, only MS-Office tools.
Hopefully it is not a big thing, but please make Symphony a fullblown alternative to MS-Office.

Users are replicating their local Contacts database with their Domino Server to support third party applications and hand held devices. They have a replicator icon for their Contacts database on the replicator page. After upgrading to Notes 8.01, 8.02, or 8.5x, they notice that the Contacts database icon is no longer on the replicator page. There is a new icon for Synchronizing Contacts, but this does not replicate with the Contacts database replica on the server.
IBM will host an Open Mic conference call with Lotus Development and Support Engineers on 18 May 2011. The topic will be "Lotus Notes/Domino Out of Office functionality."
The Domino server is reporting the error "Device is busy/In Use" on several .nlo files. This problem only occurs while BRMS is saving the DAOS directory. Alternately, you may see message CPFA09E "Object in use. Object is /Domino/DAOS/0001/123.nlo" reported in the joblog of the save. SAVDOMBRM should be an on-line save, why is this occurring?
