The series of Encuentros de Algebra Computacional y Aplicaciones (EACA) (Meetings on Computer Algebra and Applications) are intended to be a meeting opportunity
for researchers in Computer Algebra/Symbolic Computation and its Applications, as well as for those that use these tools in their research. Young researchers are particularly welcome.
The EACA’s were born as a Spanish meeting, but have evolved to an increasing international component and participation.
This occasion the EACA will take place in September 10-12, 2008, at the “Escuela Tecnica Superior de Ingenierias Informatica y de Telecomunicacion” of the University
of Granada.
Invited Speakers:
* Marta Casanellas (Universidad Politecnica de Cataluna)
* Jose Luis Fiadeiro (University of Leicester)
* Philippe Gimenez (Universidad de Valladolid)
* Sergio Lopez Permouth (Ohio University)
* Michael Stillman (Cornell University)
Call for Participation:
Participation is open to all people
interested in the topics of the EACA. Contributions should refer to recent research work -- dealing with standard mathematical results on the EACA topics and related areas or regarding mathematical experiments with Computer Algebra tools (such as novel implementation of known algorithms, experimental efficiency analysis and comparison of algorithms or system performance, computer assisted proof or verification of conjectures, etc..).
Authors wishing to present an oral communication at the EACA should
send a summary of their contribution, of less than 4 pages, before April 15, 2008, following the instructions that appear at http://www.ugr.es/~eaca2008/es.php?select=5
After a referee procedure, authors will receive a notification from the Scientific Committee, by May 25, 2008. A final version of the accepted summaries will be included in the Proceedings.
Registration/Financial support to attend the meeting:
As in previous occasions, in collaboration with the Real Sociedad Matematica Espanola (RSME), a number of grants, partially covering registration and accommodation expenses, for students and young researchers, will be awarded. Both the registration and the grant request applications will be shortly available at the EACA 2008 web page.
