RA lost program feed Aug 29, with 9590, 9580 and 9560 all running
fill music, presumably from transmitter site, and periodic apologies for
``break in transmission`` they hoped to fix ASAP. This lasted at least from
1305 to 1336 when talk programming had resumed, so ``Asia-Pacific`` listeners
were out of luck. But they were still off schedule, now monitoring 9590, with
multi-frequency QSY announcement normally running at 1357 or 1358, this time
after 1400 when they should have been in news. Then more fill, including promo
for RA now being on FM in Maldives (if they can do that, why not Minivan?), and
RA (not ABC) news finally started at 1403, but it was interrupted at 1405 to
join another feature show from ABC.

This was not a break in ``transmission`` as the transmitters stayed on the air
as usual. It was a break in program feed from Melbourne studios to Shepparton;
satellite problem? Whatever the reason, we can only wonder why they apparently
have no backup! A dialup phone link would have been adequate for the time
being. Or it could be the studio was unable to send out programming by any
means due to some kind of electrical or mechanical or computer breakdown. Loyal
listeners want to know exactly what happened, but stations never tell them such

here during the entire recording drifting +/- 25 Hz, only peaking to
audio levels after 1000 and best from 1020-1040, matching 1026 UTC Santa
Cruz sunrise. Religious sounding vocals, no announcements heard, and
unable to determine language. Very poor due to beeping UTE QRM on both

turned on at 0955, audio started fading up at 1020, peaking from
1029-1035 with just threshold audio and then fading fast. Talk by man,

Bolivia, LA SW Logs list them on 4876v and last reported 12/06.

Guanay is certainly the station reported recently on or near that frequency.

DW Rwanda haywire vs RCI --- From before 1900 UT Aug 31, I was hearing a strong
signal sweeping past RCI 15235 continuously, with bits of German audio causing
a variable heterodyne. This appears to be DW Rwanda supposed to be on 15275
until 1955*. The extremely unstable transmitter goes as low as 15205 up to
15245, at times mostly around 15215. Snatch of DW theme music at 1900. Still
doing it at 1930 recheck. Hear it yourself if in time. 73, (Glenn Hauser, OK,

[Later:] Quite possibly the same will be happening with the same transmitter
around its frequency after 2000. Per EiBi I can find three of them: 7130, 9875,
13650, but there are four transmitters there. Perhaps the other is relaying
something other than DW (Glenn, ibid.)

[later2:] After 2000, 13650 was just fine in Arabic, 9875 inaudible, and 7130
unchecked.

Rechecking almost 24 hours later at 1840 UT Sept 1, DW Kigali in German was
back to normal on 15275, not sweeping all over the place, and not interfering
with RCI on 15235. No reply from RCI, but Wolfgang Büschel had passed on my

на 1035 кГц.
В 16:22 дали ID типа "иззату....млякатиль арабия тиль-саудия", т.е.
Саудовская Аравия.
Параллельная частота 1089 kHz. По ЕМWG это BSKSA 2.
Выходит запустили новый передатчик?
Ночью сигнал по силе примерно равен Тартускому Семейному радио.
Теперь вместе со Словакией они Эстонию забивают почти полностью...

И ещё несколько наблюдений:
1026 кГц - Станция с арабскими песнями в 17:30 сигналы точного времени и
далее
новости на арабском. ID выловить не удалось, возможно это Ирак. (приём
25 и 26 августа).

1269 кГц - 15:27utc Песни типа индийских.Через 2 минуты сигнал "ушёл".
Возможно это Radio Asia. (26 августа).

96.5 МГц - Недели 2 назад появилась Radio Trinitas (Румыния) // 95.3
(слышно во время тропо)
На форуме forum.cna.ro есть упоминание г. Галац (Galati) для этой
частоты, только непонятно- это место

ascertain whether it was a Radio 1 or a Radio 5 tx causing the spur observed
at 2210-..., 29 Aug; 35344, distorted signal, so hard to read, and freq. is
approximate. I checked all the R1 & R5TN channels but couldn't detect

1008 has been handed over by Radio 10 Gold to the new
users as announced. Probably Radio 10 Gold bid a farewell to mediumwave
listeners before tune-in at 2153 when I found a song "thank you for
being a friend" was in progress, at 2157 followed by "celestial sounds"
which were abruptly cut off after 1.5 minutes. 35 seconds of open
carrier, then cut into ongoing "True Colors" by Cindy Lauper which
stayed on for 32 seconds, then cut into another ongoing song which
stayed on air for 30 seconds until the carrier was switched off,
presumably at midnight sharp (if not the mention of 2157 would have to
be corrected accordingly). What were these song fragments, apparently
not meant to go on air? The transmitter stayed off, leaving co-channel
Belarus in the clear, until I gave up at 2204.

At 2220 recheck I found 1008 back on air with programming from the new
users. Song in progress at tune-in, then talk by two gentleman about the
plans of the station with distinct background noises (apparently
computer fans) and some reverb, so probably from a provisional studio.
The ID used in this talk appeared to be shorter than "GrootNieuws
Radio", but I'm not sure since I could not really copy it, perhaps it
was just quickly spoken. Still the same audio processing than before,
remarkable since some fuss had been made about a new Optimod installed
for Radio 10 Gold (until then it was the processing from the NOS days,
as still in use on co-located 747).

units, both using the RS-500 chipset, and the big 400 Euro Truckbox, a
car unit which sends its output as FM signal to a standard car radio,

Presented prototypes: The Russian Orlyonok and the German Multyradio,
presumably using the RS-500 chipset as well, a sample from a
manufacturer of an alternative chipset (Analog Devices) and a Blaupunkt

I was listening to Band 2 Saturday at this time and also experienced the
Aurigids, alas I had nothing on TV, (video), though but Band 2 was very
active indeed. There was a lot of pings to say the least.

Similar to your TV logs Paul I was hearing mainly Italy and managed two at
RDS levels:

impassioned tlk by M in SP, then long slow song. 1001 same live M again
briefly, and 2 easy Ranchera and 1 (presumably) rel. modern song. 1017

songs. 1036 canned W anncr, but fading and modulation just too weak to
ID. Strong signal but modulation a bit weak. Don't recall hearing this in
the mornings before but I see Brian Alexander had it yesterday
