5049.93 ARDS; Was surprised to get a quick reply from Dale
Chesson, Radio Service Manager, Nhulunbuy Language & Media Centre. Says
they're using 400 watts full AM into a wire dipole fed by a balun, a
quarter wave above ground. Also says they'll be upgrading to a 1kW LPB
Omni transmitter. So it should be a little easier to hear when they get
the new transmitter on line. Dale went on to say that their programs can

in English opened with anthem and chorale (a la N Korea),
into station ID, info and passages from Koran. Weak signal
and modulation. Noise level S-5 to S-7, signal level
S-6 to S-8. For comparison, at the same time Egypt on
7270 (500kw at 330 degrees) was S-9 +15. Similar path,
target and power from Iran and Egypt but dramatically

Yes, but Egypt has a lower-latitude advantage. The signal from Iran,
whatever its initial azimuth, has to travel much further north thru

Не успел утихнуть огонь от обсуждений появления китайской станции на 14260
кГц, как она переместилась на 14050 кГц. Об этом пишет множество DX-истов в
dxld и других конференциях. Я сам пока не развернул приемную аппаратуру, но,
судя по сообщениям иностранных DX-еров, транслируется "Танец дракона" (он же
"Китайская опера"). И все это, видимо, делается для глушения подпольной
станции Sound Of Hope.

Новая частота также находится в пределах чисто любительского диапазона 20 м.

As reported earlier in various bulletins, R Fana
moved some time ago from 6210 to 6110. Some days later also
6940 disppeared. On 22 Aug I scanned thru 41 meterband and
noted R Fana on 7210 in parallel with 6110 at 1806. ID at 1811.
In fact, R Fana confirmed by e-mail these, seemingly permanent,

интересного):

Маяк на 198 кГц и 810 кГц. На 198 кГц сигнал по силе такой
же, какой и раньше, на 810 послабее.

А вот Радио Финляндии 963 кГц было слышно очень слабо. Не
могут ли они потихоньку убирать мощность в связи с
закрытием в 2007 году?

Также принял Русское Международное Радио на 1575 кГц.
Подскажите, пожалуйста, откуда. В EMWG 2006A нет

I heard Voice of Oromiya Independence via Julich on 15650 from 1500 until 1530 today, Saturday, 19 August, in presumed Oromo. At 1500 Radio Miami

International announcement by Jeff White; then instrumental theme music. Most of the broadcast was a man speaking, with many mentions of Oromo, Oromoto,

Oromiya, etc. Theme music again at 1525 began as instrumental but soon added a male singer who mentioned Oromiya many times. Transmitter off at 1530. Fair

Spanish from the Nocturno AC/ballads px. Completly overpowering WLS Chicago on the car-radio's whip antenna in the Dollard-des-Ormeaux / Pointe-Clerc

border. Regular reception on both the Sangean 818-ACS and the Sanyo MCD-S830 barefoot with WLS completly nulled out or almost. (Chiochiu-car-QC /

this time, but often quite good and the easiest of the smaller Cuban networks. Also had what sounded like YVRQ (Venezuela) on a few occasions during the past few

Condx aren't that great yet, except for the ZIZ-555 receptionw hich really BLEWED me away !!!! I never thought I would get them during the summer, although

August is a summer month that can be almost be considered as part of the traditionnal DX season.

No Trans-Atlantic DX to speak of, although I "thought" I had some man talk on 585 in and out, but could be an overspill from the 580 and 590 domestics, rather

than much soughed for Radio Nacional de España. I plan to send a taped report to Radio Nacional de España, and since Madrid-585 is regular at my QTH it would

not be a problem when the condx will really pick up in propagation quality. Right now, however, my main project is to find a tape recording of Aventure FM (105.9

in Paris which dissapeared in 1989 -> my favorite radio station of all the times), as well as having a girlfriend. But, I'm not forgetting DXing and I'm still looking for

something surprising.

I have two options: either taping regular foreign MW stations in order to expand my QSL collection which, at this time, is VERY small (only 3 FM QSLs for e-skip

catches) or looking for new stations, especially Trans-Atlantic ones, since we are reaching the minimum activity over the Sun this fall and take the QSL issue more

slowly.

The best thing is to install a new radio. Using my Sanyo MCD-S830 which is more than outstanding for casual DX despite recent alignement problems from taping

stations I intend to QSL and using a communication receiver in order to look for other "new" signals AT THE SAME time are ideal options.

If I want to QSL Madrid-585, I might try to do it fast, since Spaniard MW stations may be switching to DRM very fast.

не работает. Вчера под утро Европу практически не было слышно тоже.
Зато повсплывали всякие слаботочные аборигены. А сегодня резко
возросло прохождение ближних станций.

Техника приема
Грядущая новинка от Sangean, на этот раз позиционирующаяся как приёмник для приёма
цифрового радио DRM и DAB:

Обещанный срок выхода - октябрь этого года. Предварительная цена - 299 евро.
Предназначен прежде всего для Европейского рынка, потому и анонсирован на
Sangean-Europe. Хотя и на общем сайте компании тоже присутствует.

Этакий "скалозуб" по форме габаритами 26х18х9 см. (внизу, сужающийся вверх - от
того и столь интересное ему дал "погоняло"! :-)) Весом 1,7 кг. Динамик большой, что,
надеюсь, обеспечит и достойный звук. Ремня для переноски не заметил - впрочем, и
не для переноски, похоже, он. Хотя габариты при желании вполне позволяют брать с
собой в поездку куда на дачу или даже - в путешествие при относительно минимальном
дискомфорте. Ибо для настоящего эфиролова-радиомана это не преграда! :-)) Иногда в
форумах можно прочесть про ДХ-улов такого путешествующего ДХ-иста с взятым на
Гавайи JRC-NRD-535 или хотя бы с SONY ICF SW-2010, взятым с собой в поездку куда-
то на острова Карибского бассейна! :-))

Приём как цифровых трансляций в LW/MW/SW (в DRM), и на УКВ (DAB)? так -
и обычных AM на LW/MW/SW и FM. На FM есть и RDS. Если правильно понял, то
следующее обозначение: AMSS означает и наличие в аппарате синхронно-разделительного
детектора, то тоже есть gut! :-)) Из других приятных особенностей: встроенный *mp3
рекордер на карты памяти SD. К тому же в придачу - 12 таймеров. Ну, наконец-то хоть
появляется современная замена "логического" ряда аппаратам со встроенными аналоговыми
кассетными магнитофонами типа Sangean ATS-818ACS и SONY ICF SW-1000T!!!

Единственное пока лично у меня недоумение вызывает разве только отсутствие на корпусе
приёмника привычной цифровой клавиатуры (возможно, просто спрятана где под панелью
или, подобно как у AOR-7030, имеется пульт ДУ с ней) а так же упоминание о том, что всего
"по 6 настроек памяти на каждый диапазон". Маловато что-то, мягко говоря! Опечатка? :-))

Кстати, валкодер выполнен удобно и эргономично: сбоку. Впрочем, это характерно для всех
приёмников фирмы, имеющих ручку настройки.

Более полной спецификации приёмника пока ещё нет. Тем не менее - интересный и
многообещающий девайс! ;-) К тому же: учитывая достаточно высокую цену появляющихся
ныне цифровых новинок, 299 евро (или около 400$) это не так уж и много. Eton E1 стоит на
