Time management (part 2)

5) Manage your time on the task.

- Work in quarter hour, half hour or hour intervals.

- Set a time limit for yourself to complete the task, or a part of the task.

6) Take a break to clear and refresh your mind and keep yourself focused.

- Descide on the time of the break before starting to work and keep it stable: it could be 5, 10, or 15 minutes.

- During your break, you may look at things from a different angle, and develop a new perspective.

7) Track your progress.

- Cross things off the list as you complete them.

- You will feel more relieved and relaxed just by going through the daily tasks.

- You will also have a sence of accomplishment, providing you with necessary motivation.

8) Reassess the list when necessary.

- Rewrite and reassign priorities as needed.

- Add new tasks to the list.

- Eliminate certain tasks.

- Delegate tasks to others.

- Use tecknology to complete tasks more quickly, efficiently or accurately.

Vocabulary

Angle - угол, сторона, точка зрения.

Track - следить, намечать курс.

Cross off - исключать из списка, вычеркивать.

Accomplishment - выполнение, завершение.

Reassess - производить пересмотр, переоценку.

Eliminate - удалять, ликвидировать, очищать.

When making the list, pick subjects and not verbs. List ideas and allocate time per subject. Keep track of your productive time with a clock. When you will know how much time a task will take, you will be able to write more accurate scedules and plan better. Also, just knowing how much time a certain taks takes, will motivate you to complete it. Do not think that "everything has to be done yesterday", you will need to keep your priorities realistic in order to work efficently. Do not overwhelm your day with an unrealistic schedule that would be difficult or impossible to accomplish.
