Всем присутствующим большой привет!

В связи с занятостью, автор не успел подготовить выпуск рассылки на сегодня, как намечал ранее.

Но нет худа без добра. Во-первых, у вновь присоединившихся будет возможность прочитать архив рассылки. Я это настоятельно рекомендую потому, что материал подается в определенной последовательности, и не усвоив предыдущего, не воспримешь последующего. Во-вторых, я, в качестве компенсации за обманутые ожидания приготовил вкусную конфету.

Волею судеб автор уже давно примазался к Академическому сообществу оф Грейт Британи. Должен вам доложить сэры, у них цепкие лапы! С упорством маньяков вот уже пару лет подряд они еженедельно сообщают мне об имеющихся вакансиях в университетах ЮК и Сообщества, в основном по моей специальности. Соберусь, бывалоча, ехать, а потом как раздумаюсь - куды там! У меня и куры недоены, и коровы непоены, и лошади незапряжены... А потому, по древнему русскоязычному обычаю, поделюсь-ка я своим счастьем с почтеннейшей публикой. Авось, найдется в нашей деревне пара отщепенцев, космополитов безродных, готовых променять ароматы родины на чечевичную похлебку преподавателя университета где-нибудь в Данди. Или в Ганди. (Что из них пароход, а что человек уже не помню). Если данные аппендиксы будут представлять интерес, впоследствии вынесу их в отдельную рассылку.

Итак, дебют. Предупреждаю, что предложения будут изложены на ихнем империалистическом языке. Мы академиев не кончали, и буржуйские буковки переводить не собираемся!

Design Studies
School of Design


The University of Dundee has established two new BSc degrees in Interactive Media Design and Innovative Product Design, these programmes are unique in the UK in the way they cross boundaries between design and technology; media and programming; software and product. We now wish to appoint a new Lecturer in Design Studies to work on the development and delivery of these programmes and to shape and develop a growing portfolio of other teaching and research initiatives. Particular responsibilities will include direction and shared delivery of design studies modules in visual expression, structured creativity, stakeholders and contexts.

You should be a committed designer/design educator with a good understanding of commercial design practice. You will have a first degree in a relevant subject and ideally a postgraduate qualification. You will have an active mind, unconstrained by conventional boundaries between disciplines with a good understanding of design process, visual expression and structured creativity.

Chair of Colour Science and Technology

School of Design


The School is seeking to make an appointment from 1 September 2003 or as soon as possible thereafter.

You will be required to develop research in the area of colour science and technology, supervising research students and attracting research and other funding.You will also be required to teach in the subject area of colour science and technology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.You must have vision, be capable of providing academic direction and leadership, possess an established research record and have the ability to contribute positively to the development of a unique design provision at the University of Leeds.

Textiles Department

SALARY - Ј23,296 - Ј33,679 per annum pro rata

Lecturers within the Department of Textiles work as a team providing teaching input across the four disciplines of Embroidery, Knit, Print and Weave. Responsibilities of the post will involve innovative development of print/knit within the Department as well as the preparation, delivery and assessment of the print/knit component of the Department of Textiles as part of the academic team.

Reporting to the Head of Textiles Department, you will have a B.A. in Textiles, preferably an M.A. You will have a distinguished record of professional and/or academic achievement and be able to make a substantial creative contribution to the teaching and research programme of the Department of Textiles is essential. Experience in H.E. would be desirable.
