US President Donald Trump has announced on Saturday that Sunday September 3rd shall be a national day of prayer in light of the Texas flood survivors and their recovery, at a press conference in Houston Saturday.
The US president praised the hard work in recovery from the Storm Harvey Flooding over the previous week, «The water is disappearing and you have a long way to go... you got a lot of hard working people I tell you that», the President stated.
Trump however, did not address the rising death toll and news of critical damage from flooding at a Houston chemical plant, which is causing urgent concerns.

FBI officials inspected the offices of the the Russian Consulate General in San Francisco, Saturday, after the administration of US President Donald Trump ordered its closure, along with Russian diplomatic consulates and annexes in New York and Washington DC.
The facilities in San Francisco were inspected and closed along with a chancery annex in Washington DC and a Russian consular annex in New York City according to the executive order. The move comes after Moscow ordered a reduction of US diplomatic staff in Russia in retaliation for additional US sanctions.
Both the US and Russia will now have three consulates in each other's nation.

Newly-appointed Russian ambassador to the US Anatoli Antonov said that he is going to «to clarify certain events in Russia» while being «as open as possible to meet» with US media, in an interview with Russia-1 TV channel, in Moscow on Saturday.
«I will be as open as possible to meet with journalists,» stated Antonov. «Maybe [I will] invite American journalists to our embassy. Conversations can be held sometimes without notes, but in order to clarify certain events in Russia, to understand how we perceive this or that aspect of the policy of the United States of America. I'm also going to go to foreign studios,» he stated.
Speaking of his predecessor, Sergei Ivanovich Kislyak, Antonov added that it was «just terrible» that «there was a so-called toxic atmosphere around him, which was created and invented by the Americans,» as he was accused of being «a spy and a major recruiter.»
Antonov defended Kislyak, stressing that «he is a highly qualified specialist, who has illuminated his life with a diplomacy [spelled] with a capital letter,» and that he is «a class specialist.»
Antonov, who previously served as deputy defense and foreign minister, was appointed to serve as Russia's ambassador to the US on August 21, 2017.

«The relationship with the new government of the United States, as with any other nation, must be based upon non-renounceable principles: sovereignty, defence of the national interest, and the protection of our nation's citizens. I have said it and I will reiterate it: we will not accept anything that goes against our dignity as a nation,» stated the president.
In turn, Nieto spoke on trade stating that «Mexico's objective is to consolidate this agreement [NAFTA] as an instrument for regional integration, giving complete certainty to trade and investments between Mexico, Canada and the United States,» said Nieto. The Mexican president continued that the Mexican negotiating team will tackle NAFTA with «with seriousness, good faith and with the will to be constructive» as it works along with US and Canadian negotiators.
Nieto then touched on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), an Obama-era programme that legislates to protect some 750,000 immigrant children who have entered the US illegally. The president said that Mexico will keep working with the US on issues regarding migration and security, and then stated that he salutes «the young people who benefit from the measure that protects them since they arrived in the USA as children.»
US President Donald Trump is due to announce on Tuesday his decision on whether to end the programme founded by Obama's administration in June 2012.

South Korea's weather agency reported that an artificial earthquake occurred at 12:29 pm local time with a 5.7 magnitudeat the site Pyongyang has previously conducted nuclear tests, in Kilju, northern Hamgyong Province.
Seoul officials revised originally said the earthquake had a 5.6 magnitude, but this was later revised. The US Geological Survey stated the quake had a 6.3 magnitude. North Korean state TV later confirmed that it had «successfully» tested a hydrogen bomb which can be loaded onto a missile.
North Korea conducted its fifth test last year in September.

The announcement was made mere hours after a 6.3 magnitude earthquake was registered near the North Korean nuclear testing site Punggye-ri in North Hamgyong Province, according to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA). According Korean Central Television, North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un had ordered the test.
The past months have seen a buildup of tensions on the Korean Peninsula and an exchange of aggressive rhetoric between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un.

Eui-yong stated that Seoul «will never tolerate missile and nuclear enhancement of North Korea» and that the country will use «all diplomatic methods» to counter Pyongyang's nuclear provocations «including pushing for a new UN Security Council sanctions.»

Hundreds of protesters rallied in solidarity with Rohingya Muslims outside of the Myanmar embassy in Moscow on Sunday.
Protesters urged Myanmar's government to take immediate action over the persecution of Rohingya Muslims in the northwest of the country.
«They are killing women and kids, burying them alive, tearing them apart whilst they are still alive, showing on film how they are torturing toddlers. Why is everyone keeping silent, don't you know what's happening?» said one protester.
A heavy police presence monitored the demonstration.
The resurfacing of violence in Myanmar is being blamed on last week's attack on the country's police force that left 12 officers dead. The Myanmar military claims to be targeting Rohingya militants in response, leading to widespread reports of wide scale killings, arson, looting and rape in Rohingya villages.
The number of Rohingya Muslims crossing into Bangladesh since last week's eruption of violence in Rakhine state has reached 40,000, according to UN estimates.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping held a bilateral meeting in Xiamen, Sunday, ahead of 9th BRICS summit in the southeastern Chinese city.
Putin outlined that it is the leaders' fourth meeting this year and highlighted his desire to «welcome this opportunity» in order to «exchange views» on how the results of the previous meeting are being implemented. The Russian president described the talks that took place in Moscow on 3-4 July as «comprehensive».
The Chinese leader shared the same outlook,saying that during that visit both presidents discussed bilateral relations and international problems. «It is good that our ministries and authorities have been working on implementation of all the agreements and achieve results,» he noted.
Putin wished to his Chinese counterpart success in hosting the BRICS summit and extended his thanks for the invitation to the city of Xiamen. The Russian leader also noted that he had never been to that part of China before, and in his opinion the city looks «simply incredible» and «gives the impression of a booming city and region».
Putin is set to take part in 9th BRICS summit which will be held between September 4 and 5.
