this would be nice easy listening.  Later after 0000, found this was gone,

comments giving TC's "5 en manana y 30 minutos" as well as ID's, which I
missed, during comments.  Periodically a musical selection is presented.
Signal was fair.  Don't know if this is a regular feature, but on Sunday
morning there seems to be none of the usual QRM from the Brazilian station
on this freq or the Utility that blocks out Municipal.

longe! Em breve, vai estar emitindo tambem na faixa de 31 metros. A 
frequencia? 9715 kHz. A Anatel excluiu, em nove de setembro, a 
destinacao do canal para Osasco (SP). A partir desta data, a 
frequencia de 9715 kHz ja esta destinada para a cidade de Guaruja. 
Assim, a Radio Guaruja Paulista estara utilizando as seguintes 
frequencias: 3235, 3385, 5045, 5940 e 9715 kHz. Em 31 metros, a 
Guaruja Paulista estara no ar 24 horas por dia, com 10 kW de potencia. A autorizacao
da Anatel foi dada pelo ato n? 52.726, que foi repassado a coluna pelo Domingos

This info comes from an engineering source in Vanuatu.
Only one out of three Radio Vanuatu's shortwave transmitters
is working at the moment. It was off for couple of days since
16 September due to fault in the exciter power supply, but
should be on the air by now. Transmitter is rated 10kW but
runs around 8kW.

The schedule is (times UTC)
3945 1900-2100, 0500-1100
7260 2100-0500

The switch-over times from one frequency to another are "about"
as there is no remote control system functioning and station's tech
has to go to the transmitter site (10km from the town) and manually
change frequency and antenna system.
Audio might be a bit undermodulated due to audiofeed link problems.

this was just a fluke or if they adjusted their audio.  Tlk by M over

M w/short ID anmnt, native mx signature not unlike the NBC uses, then pres.

9525, Radio Star, Liberia, 0810-0900 Noted a series
of features and news during period.  Much of the program was in English with
ID's by a woman as, "This is Star Radio, your news and information radio
station."  At 0815 a program of messages from and to relatives.  Later music
presented.  At about 0845, language changes to vernacular As the signal gets
worse at 0855 they close by 0858 UTC.  So the quality was good at beginning
of the hour and it deteriorated to poor by the end of the hour.  Hope the

I received another e-mail from Joe Mendoza today.  Joe 
was kind enough to answer a few more questions.  He confirmed that they do 
indeed use only one transmitter for both 4890 and 9675 operating at 40 
kw.  They use 9675 during the day and 4890 at night, switching at 1700 and 
0800.  He didn't say if that was UTC or local, but I believe that's 1500 
UTC when they switch to 9675 and 0600 to 4890.  He also says that some 
stations are off the air due to land disputes and operational 
funding.  Apparently we'll never hear R. Enga (2410 khz) again as the 
station and equipment was damaged due to tribal fighting and a land 
dispute.  So we have to consider ourselves lucky that there are as many 
PNGs on the air as there are.  Joe said that he'll give me more information 
with his frequency list that he'll be sending over the weekend.  (22 Sept.)

4890, NBC, After reading Joe Mendoza's e-mail mentioning 
the frequency changeover, I decided to set the timer on the receiver and MD 
recorder and see if I could catch NBC coming on.  At 0704 the signal did 
seem to appear.  At 0705 there was definitely the end of tlk by M (nx??) 
followed by mx.  Unfortunately I had set the receiver in LSB, so I was 
picking up a lot of splash QRM from the ZY on 4885.  So the times Joe gives 
in his e-mail (1700 and 0800) must've been local time.  1700 local = 0700

Per my logging of the UNID FF on 729 khz a few mornings back, Chris
Martin in Australia heard it and found out that what we are hearing is a
new frequency of the TDF in New Caledonia. No power was given, but it
may be in the range of 10 or 20 KW but just a guess.  So there is a new
one to go after. Now to get a QSL.... Thanks so much Chris. You made my

Radio Los Andes is very rare and irregular. This
is a recording I made one year ago with my NRD
535. I have logged the station 2-3 times after
july 2004 always with the name "Radio Los Andes".
I have seen information that the station has
changed the nme to "Radio Virgin", but it?s
unknown to me. Jingel: "La radio total". The
female singer Jenny Rocero sounds very Ecuadorian

которые активно развивают свои сети.
1. Дорожное Радио вещает в С-Петербурге и 9 пунктах Ленинградской области, 
а также в Пскове. Пару недель назад началось вещание в г.Валдай 
(Новгородская обл.) на 102.2 МГц.
Следующий шаг - Рязань на 101.5 МГц + еще четыре пункта Рязанской обл. (но 
не в Мосолово !), а также Ярославль-Дубки на 103.8 МГц.
В перспективе - Карелия и новые ретрансляторы в Новгородской и Псковской 
областях.
Во время движения автомобиля система RDS перестраивает приемник на 
ближайший ретранслятор автоматически, не отвлекая водителя.

2. Радио Хит вещает в С-Петербурге и Ленинградской области (Выборг, Кириши, 
Волхов, Луга, Кингисепп).
В плане - Тихвин 106.4 МГц и Подпорожье 104.5 МГц.

В большинстве случаев используются литовские передатчики Vigintos 1 кВт, и 
обе станции вещают "по-родственному" через одну антенну.
