 Проверим домашнее задание.

At weekends the sportive father   makes his younger son  GO to the gym.
Предвижу вопрос об отсутствии TO  перед глаголом go. Вся проблема в make. Посмотрите правило.

d) MAKE and LET
These verbs have the structure VERB + INFINITIVE(without TO)
Hot weather makes me feel uncomfortable. I only did  it  because  they made  me do it. She wouldn't let me read the letter.

REMEMBER THAT make AND let have the infinitive without TO. Tom made me do it. Tom let me drive his car yesterday.
BUT IN THE PASSIVE make HAS THE INFINITIVE WITH to.
I only did it because I was made to do it.

 А теперь продолжим работу с Future Simple.

WHEN AND IF SENTENCES.
A. What time will you phone me tonight?
B: I'll phone you when I get home from work.

 I'll phone you when I get home from work" is a sentence with 2 parts: "I'll phone you"(the main part) and "when I get home from work" (the WHEN part). The sentence is future (tonight) but you  cannot  use  will  or going to in the WHEN part of the sentence.
Instead we  use  a  present tense. Usually present simple (I DO).

Но иногда может быть и Present Perfect. Но об этом в следующий раз.

-I'll send you a postcard when I'm on holiday.
-When the rain stops we'll go out.
The same thing happens after :
WHILE, AFTER, BEFORE, UNTIL\TILL, AS SOON AS.

Can you look after the children while I am out? - Before you leave , you must visit the museum. - Wait here until I come back.
