Rudyard Kipling once described Burma (Myanmar) as: “quite unlike any land you know about.” Join us as we explore this Golden Land, perhaps the least discovered country in Southeast Asia. Our itinerary includes Yangon’s Schwedagon Pagoda, the ancient city of Bagan where the landscape is dotted with more than one thousand temples, Inle Lake, where we will photograph local fishermen, bustling local markets and lakeside life seemingly unchanged for centuries.

During the first full moon of November, India’s Pushkar Fair, Asia’s largest camel and livestock market springs to life in the sleepy, picturesque, lakeside town of Pushkar. An ancient religious town, in the Thar desert of Rajasthan, provides an almost surreal backdrop for this unique event. Photographing Pushkar Fair is a once-in-a-lifetime event.

Experience the most Mexican of holidays in beautiful Oaxaca in southern Mexico. Many of the local people believe that on these special nights the spirits of the dead come to visit. We’ll photograph their parties for the dead in cemeteries, and the elaborate altars they prepare, as well as costume parades, colorful markets, splendid colonial churches, and the people and their daily life in Oaxaca.

Guatemala is a true paradise for photographers. Set in a backdrop of indescribable grandeur – volcanoes looming above with beautiful lakes, lush jungles, and pine forests. We’ll begin our journey in the bustling lowland capitol of Tuxtla Gutierrez. There we’ll travel by boat on the Rio Grijalva to visit breathtaking Sumidero Canyon. While we’re on the river we’ll photograph the dramatic 3,000 foot cliffs, as well as birdlife and hopefully crocodiles along the shore. After our river trip we’ll take a short drive up into a different world in the pine-forested mountains to the colonial gem of San Cristobal de las Casas.
