Nov 26 - Dec 4, 2011. Ecuador is one of the truly spectacular places on Earth to see and photograph birds. This very safe country is about the size of Michigan but hosts twice as many bird species as all of North America. Many bird species are different on the western and eastern slopes of the Andes, and we'll visit both slopes during our week-long tour. We'll have opportunities to photograph some 40 species of hummingbirds as well as rare antpittas, barbets, toucans, tanagers, and more.

Our workshop will take place in the cool, cloud forests of the Talamanca Mountain range. Here we will spend two crisp mornings photographing one of the most beautiful birds in the world...the Replendant Quetzal. Our afternoons will be spent photographing the dozen or so different species of hummingbirds that live in this high elevation biological reserve.
