в Excel можно делать ссылки типа: Notes://SErverName/REplicaID BD/UNID VIEW/UNID DOC
если сделать ее гиперссылкой то при нажатии открывается документ в лотусе. Но на одном терминальном сервер эта ассоциация не работает. лотус переставляли несколько раз.

Вопрос: может это в реестре можно как то пофиксить. или в настройках винды?

The other week our iPad went nuts. Possessed is the word I used to describe it to Apple Support. Things were swiping all over the place and apps opening of the own accord.
After it had calmed down over night it was usable but parts of the screen no longer responded to touch. In particular the letter O on the keyboard never worked.
So, on Sunday, three weeks before Christmas and against my better judgement I drove in to town to return it to the shop. The man at the shop confirmed it was broken and said a new one would be back in the store within 14 working days. This worked out that (if I was lucky) it was be back just before Christmas. Now a) I didn't want to come in to town again so close to Christmas and b) didn't want to risk not having it back in time for Christmas.
The option I went for was to buy an Apple Care "protection plan" for 70 pounds. With this I called on the Monday and the replacement arrived on Wednesday.
Like an idiot I returned the old one in its original box with the charger and cable. Luckily I had a spare one (not now I don't though). Lucky also that it got back to Apple in one piece as the original box offers it no protection. Shame Apple refuse to return anything sent to them in error.
Putting aside the hassle I went through to get the new one (you have to expect this to a degree when IT kit goes bad I suppose) what surprised me was just what a pain it is to manage your iPad's content via iTunes.
You'd assume that all things Apple are super-user-friendly. Is that really the case though? I found backing up and restoring all the apps from the old to new iPad a frustrating and tedious process and I still didn't get any of the data back (I lost hours and hours -if not days - of gameplay achievements too).
The iPad syncing process if full of confusion. Like the fact you can't sync apps if "restrictions" (of any kind) are enabled on the iPad itself. Then there's the warnings every time you choose to sync something - normally along the lines of "If you do this you'll have to buy all your apps again" or "If you do this all music and videos on the iPad will be erased" etc etc.
I love my iPad and was at a bit of a loose-end for the two days we were without it. But now I have my "new" iPad I can't help feeling it's somehow tainted. Like taking an old girlfriend back after a messy split. You never quite got the same kind of affection for them do you...
Building on a similar format to the great series written by Declan Lynch I would propse a book specifically targeted at those people who have acquired skills as a Notes Classic developer and are looking to make the change to XPages. But rather than write it as a reference guide in sections, write it in a diary format in which new material is introduced based upon the need to solve a range of common everyday programming needs, starting with the day the whimpy programmer's company upgraded from Notes 7.0 to 8.5.3 (Yes get on the beta program to make this book current).
It would cover topics (interspersed across the entire book) such as:-
Introduction to to DDE
Getting the most out of ELSE (Eclipse lotusScript Editor0
I would like to propose creating new category for ideas that separates out Lotus XPages development from Notes Classic. If the purpose of Ideajam (the site, not the product) is to provide feedback to IBM of ideas the community would like to see implimented then I think we need to make it easier for IBM to separate out the ideas. I would suggest the primary value to be gained from making suggested enhancement to LotusScript or Notes forms is like laying on your shrinks couch to get something off your chest. It's OK to be Domish, just don't expect IBM to be the ones building you buggies for your horses.

Not your usual here's how to mobilize your companies business process applications. Instead a look at using Domino to host a twitter integrated, location aware application fit to run on Android, iPad and iPhone.
We'll cover:
1) What's new in HTML5 elements and use them practically in the application;
2) Enhancements to CSS3 including media media queries (we'll change the layout depending on screen orientation)
3) Twitter integration (with Java, with PHP)
4) Configuring the Domino server to mask the .nsf in url's
A practical example might be to build a twitter application for keeping abreast of Lotusphere tweets, we could show the location of tweets on a map.
Cherie is on the rebound from a disappointing, unfulfilling relationship, looking for tech in all the wrong places, when she meets Nathan, dashing and debonair. Nathan shows Cherie what development can be as he takes her step-by-step through an introduction to this exciting new technology. Cherie's eyes are opened, not only to the joys and possibilities of using XPages, but also to the charms of her persuasive teacher. Read on to find out if Nathan will learn a thing or two as well.
Perhaps we could even get Nathan Freeman to write the XPages part, although I would gladly volunteer to write the Nathan and Cherie tech-romance in my noir fashion. We would need to find someone with artistic skills. Any volunteers?
When coding in “vanilla” Eclipse you get code folding for methods, constructors, etc. It would be really useful to have such a thing in server-side Javascript script libraries—in fact, across the board for all script libs and agents.
The problem is this could be a tome, but maybe it will be done in 8 parts.

5) Sametime

Start with the obvious issues, move to more extensive problems that deal with iNotes integration, SSL, SSO and more.
A true collbaorative effort as one person can not do it all, but this is what is on my mind.
Admins have the info centers, wikis and blog posts, so do people in the field, but yet many pepople out there do not trust blogs, believe it or not, but they do trust content in books.
Would be nice if we could Map a "specific Place" as Network Drive via Windows Explorer.
Since we have many Places working via Connector with different usage, would be a friendly interface we have Mapped "Specific Place" we use as "file repository" or "Favorite" to Send and Get files. Would save some "clicks"!!!
"Send To" option is also a great function that become work easy and fast.

This is in response to Ben Langhinrichs' request for book proposals.
I'm really interested in the upcoming Lotusphere session about Expression Language syntax and think the topic would make a handy reference book that a lot of XPages developers would want and use.
Expression Language could be the next LotusScript in terms of power and flexibility.
This is response to Ben Langhinrichics' request for book proposals.
I figure that within a year or two Lotus Live might evolve into something that most company would consider seriously as they add more feature to it. When that time comes it would be handy to have a book explaining to those prospective customers how easy it is to migrate (part or all) of your existing environment to Lotus Live.
At the very least I think that this book should cover the following topics
Explanation of what is Lotus Live (what it can and cannot do). For example can I migrate my existing lotus notes application to Lotus Live ?
How to made Lotus Live coexist with your existing environment
How to completely migrate your existing environment to Lotus Live
Troubleshooting Lotus Live problem (how is it different with on-site domino troubleshooting)
This is response to Ben Langhinrichics' request for book proposals.
I know that there is already a slide outlining what it takes to deploy all the component of sametime 8.5.x but I felt that there are many things left unexplained to those that read it. From my own experience of installing Sametime Gateway by relying on the Info Center I knew that this can be a painful trial and error process (especially for those with no experience on Websphere Application Server). Therefore having a detail book to guide you throughout the process would be very helpfull.
I figure that this book would need to cover the following topics
Explanation of the functionality for each Sametime Component
Planning of Sametime deployment and upgrade
Brief explanation about Websphere Application Server (common terminology, how to find various item like cell-name, logs, etc)
Brief explanation about DB2 (common terminology, how to do various important things like indexing the database, assigning access right, etc)
Guide for deploying new Sametime environment
Guide for upgrading your Sametime environment
I understand that the last two topics would be so monstrous that the limited 100 page would not be enough to cover even one of them. Therefore I would appreciate and idea on how to streamline this.
There hasn't been a book on the C API since the early 90s. In the format Ben describes, one could probably only just scratch the surface of setting up your development environment; understanding the most important API include files, structures and functions; and building a couple of the sample applications and then modifying them in some interesting ways. But if there's enough interest, this could be the first in a series.
Currently you can customize a toolbar by adding a new button and use formula language, but why not give the option of using the other languages that are supported.

In order to develop secured xPages applications I need the following:
- Analogue of NotesDocument.Sign
- Analogue of NotesDocument.Encrypt
- Analogue of signed section
- Ability to extract name of signer, signature date-time, etc.
- Analogues ofotherfeaturesof LotusNotesclienttoworkwith a digital signatureand encryption.
This document provides minimum system requirements for the 8.5.2 release of IBM Lotus® Domino Designer and Administrator Clients. Higher maintenance levels, such as fix packs and service packs, may be supported as they become available. However, new release versions are not supported at this time.
Even with the continued popularity of agile development methodologies, modeling continues to be a valuable practice in many organizations. Modeling helps you think through a complex design and visually share your approach. With client side or browser based development models in the mainstream, a new look at modeling was in order to ensure that the approach could keep up with evolving technology.
