The UnicodeData.nsf database contains one document for each Unicode code point that is documented in the standard UnicodeData.txt file on the Unicode Consortium web site. Each document contains the decimal and hex values of a Unicode code point, and a text field populated with the actual LMBCS character that corresponds to that code point, along with the Unicode name for the code point and several other values. The database has a view containing all the separate code point documents that is conveniently sorted by the decimal Unicode code point. There is also another view containing several additional useful documents: a document with the original UnicodeData.txt file as an attachment, a document containing all the code points rendered 16 per line as LMBCS characters in a Notes rich text field, and a document containing all the code points rendered 1 per line as LMBCS code points. All scripts used in creation of the documents are included in the database.

It would be very usefull, having the possibility to make columns sortable in embedded views, while keeping the categories already used in the embedded view intact.
We don't have yet a set of reusable controls to build smartphone apps but we've been asked to make the code available that we used to build the simple OpenNTF smartphone app. You can download this code now from here. The project contains a very simple ...
We have several generic mail boxes used by our customer service department that are monitored by several people. The customer service people would like to have this shared mail file(or mail in database) notify them when new mail appears. Since they are not the owner of the mail file the client does not notify them when new messages come in. This would also be useful for administrative assistants that watch their bosses mail file.
In the Lotus Notes Standard client calendar you have the option of overlaying up to 3 calendars on top of your own. It would be neat if you could do that with the inbox. This way if you are responsible for some one else's mail file you have one place to look for it. Of course we would want the inbox of the other persons to auto refresh and notify the user when new mail comes in.

As best as I can tell there are two key differences between the way an NTF and a NSF operate. 1) Scheduled agents will not run in an NTF, and (2) An NTF cannot be viewed in a Web browser. With the push towards doing more Web development (including XPages) it seems to make sense to allow NTFs to be viewed from a browser. Without this ability I find myself creating templates as NSFs which partially negates the whole concept of having NTFs in the first place.
Combine, (even If only from the UI Perspective) All Administrative Settings, into a single User Friendly Seting Document/Screen.
Server Docs, Config Docs, ini settings, sametime configuration, (Even internet sites and connections could appear as part of the main doc)
Now that all of the info lives on one document, you could more easily validate and idiot proof many incompatible settings and perhaps even automate some of the settings based on other settings.
In early 2009 I was trialling one of
the free Windows Sysinternals tools called "contig.exe" (v1.55)
on my home Windows 2003 Domino server to see if I could defragment my NSFs
while the Domino server was running and it worked fine. I have since ...
Domino notes.ini settings from previous installations that are no longer required and should be removed when installing/running Domino Server Release 8.5.x or higher. NLCACHE_VERSION=4 and Debug_Enable_Update_Fix=32767 have become the default on Domino 8.5.x.
