We’re here to support and encourage and see what we can do and raise as much money as we can. I’m excited to be part of it really. Obviously, it’s a sad situation that happened, but what can we do? How can we move forward? What can we do for other people? That’s the question.”

I wasn’t here when the fire happened but I’ve lived around this area at various times in my life so you feel part of it you know what I mean so even though my football playing skills, I’ve just been telling Peter, are very negligible, I was very honoured to asked and I will do my best.”

Again these are sort of the performing arts, but the firemen that were involved in the unfortunate events are gonna be here, survivors as well and volunteers, so I mean it is a massive community effort. It’s very good that QPR put the thing on for us and hopefully it’ll be an entertaining game, hopefully people won’t think that you’re in goal again.”

Athletics champions from around the world met in Monaco’s Grimaldi Forum on Friday, for the 2017 International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) awards.
Among the athletes walking down the red carpet were Qatari track and field ace Mutaz Essa Barshim, American 400 metres world champion Phyllis Francis, American sprinter Sydney McLaughlin, and Croatian high jumper Blanca Vlasic. Joining them for pictures was IAAF President Sebastian Cole.
Barshim was joined by Belgian athlete Nafissatou Thiam in winning the prized male and female World Athletes of the Year award.

The most prestigious award in world athletics, the IAAF World Athlete of the Year, was presented to its winners at the Grimaldi Centre in Monaco, Friday.
Qatari high jumper Mutaz Essa Barshim and Belgian heptathlon specialist Nafissatou Thiam joined the likes of 6-time winner Usain Bolt, Carl Lewis and Paula Radcliffe on the list of the world's most elite athletes.
«It's a great honour to be awarded today, it is a big statement for me: this is the biggest award you can win as an athlete,» Barshim told journalists.
There were 6 finalists to get the 2017 award: distance runners Mo Farah (UK) and Alma Ayana Eba (Eth), sprinter Wayde Van Niekerk (RSA), pole vaulter Katerina Stefanidi (Gre) as well as Barshim and Thiam.
The award can be won by athletes who have participated in sporting events organised by the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF). It includes track and field, cross country, road running and race walking.

Tennis players tried out their skills in the unorthodox setting of Milan's San Paolo Converso Church on Thursday, as part of artist Asad Raza's exhibition titled 'Untitled (plot for dialogue)'.
According to a written description of the exhibition, «For Raza, the game serves as a method of absorbing energetic drive into symbolic but non-harmful practices.»
One of the exhibition participants described how «crazy» it felt to be doing «a very active normal thing in a place that you usually feel it should be very serious and solemn.»
The Roman Catholic Church has a Baroque facade designed by Italian painter and architect Giovan Battista Crespi. The building is now privately owned and is used as the headquarters of architecture firm CLS Architetti and acts as a contemporary art space.
