Making quite the splash! Competitors jump into Black Sea in Cliff Diving World Cup, Simeiz

The Cliff Diving World Cup took place in Simeiz, Crimea, on Friday, with 12 athletes from different continents participating in the competition. Each of the athletes performed three jumps from a height of 23 meters (75.5 feet), directly into the Black Sea.
This is the first time the contest was held in Crimea, with participating countries including Ukraine, Columbia, Mexico, Czech Republic, USA, UK, Russia, Bulgaria and Luxembourg.
The decision to hold the competition in Crimea caused contention with Ukraine. One orgainser said, «Two athletes could not come, they refused because they were influenced by their sponsors and threats from Ukraine. Letters were sent to everyone, including us, the organisers».
The winner was British diver Gary Hunt, with American diver Andrew Jones and Russian diver Artyom Silchenko coming second and third respectively.

Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) boxer Conor McGregor came face-to-face in Las Vegas, on Friday, at the weigh-in ahead of their fight on Saturday.
McGregor weighed in at 153lbs (69.3kg), one pound below the division limit, while Mayweather at 149.5lbs (67.8kg). Both fighters then came together for a stare down, where McGregor taunted Mayweather, while the latter remained calmed.

Dubbed «The Biggest Little Fight in the World», professional impersonators Eric Smalls and Ricky Mini went four rounds in front of a lively audience with Mini 'Mayweather' winning in a final judge score.
Mayweather and McGregor will face-off at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday.
