Floorball is still waiting for its boom in the country of unlimited possibilities.
Russia only has 50 active teams and 700 registered players.
The club from Nizhnyj Novgorod has ranked among the top home teams for years
and it is a significant source of the Russia's national players among whom Alexander
Zavertjajev, Konstantin Rudnij, Roman Druzhininskij, Ivan Ponomarev, Dmitrij
Pudov, Anatolij Bykov, Michail Ivanov, Vladimir Gorshenenko, Valerij Maslov and
Michail Bukin have already some experience with playing for the national team.
All these guys will drudge their team on the way to victory in Ostrava. Although
the seventh place from PMEZ 2003
is the maximum for the Nizhegorodets on the international field, the team's performance

Stшeљovice fought against Nizhegorodets and they have acquired important points.
Ostrava - January 4, 2006.
The gripping match with the happy end, the players of Tatran Stшeљovice fought
against Niћegorodмc and they have won 9:8! Milan Garиar scored 3 goals but in
the fight of shooters he was screaned by russian player Jurij Jerofejev who scoared
4 goals. The match started in wild rhytm. Niћegorodмc led in 4th minute after
the goal of Gorљenмnkov. This goal was followed by ice shower from the second
team - Garиar, Mosteckэ and Hozman scored during 132 seconds and the situation
was 3:1 for Czech champions. But also
this situation was surpassed by the team from Novgorod. Niћegorodмc played only
with two lines. Later on Gorљenмnkov and Bykov scored. But then Tatran played
the power-play and 13 seconds before the end of the first period Fridrich scored.
Stшeљovice changed the goalkeeper and they went trough the triumph with
Kafka in the goal. Later on we could see the collaboration of Jerofejev and Gorљenмnkov,
they increased the score to 5:5. But then it was von Der
Pahlen who scored. Seventh goal added Fuchs and the eight Garиar. But it wasn't
the end...In the situation of 6:9 Jerofejev scored twice, it
was 8:9 for Tatran and they have fear about three points, but the press of rival
ended after the 2 minutes long penalty for Pudov.

Sarpsborg overplayed Novgorod and is still in the fight about  the semifinal.
Ostrava - January 5, 2006.
The players of Norwegian Sarpsborg surpassed the crisis when they have lost the
points with Erisgen and after today's triumph 8:6 they are still in the fight
about the semifinal. The Russian team Nizhegorodets have lost the second match
and they will be probably on the last place in the men's group A. Sarpsborg hadn't
the best start on the match, in the 3rd minute it was Maslov who scored. Then
the big moments of Jan Karlsson came. In the 6th minute he scored and during
the 5 minutes long powerplay he scored
twice. Still in the short-handed Rudnyj decreased to 2:3. The loss of Russian
team could be straightened, but when Bykov and Jerofejev were face to face to
Norwegian goalkeeper they didn't score.
Today Nizhegorodets also showed that he could play a game full of surprises.
Skaug and Andersson increased to 5:2 at the beginning of the
second period, but they didn't break the rival. The offensive of Russian team
is excellent, in five minutes the situation of the match was aligned.
The guests could change the score during the five minutes long powerplay, but
they weren't sucessful and in the 39th minute it was Skaug who scored again.
In the 43th minute Maslov scored. Later on both of the teams had chances to score
and it was the best player of the match - Skaug who decided. The most experienced
player of Sarpsborg - Kristansen finished the triumph to the final score 8:6.

Wiler finished the group by another success. Ostrava - January 6, 2006
The sovereign of the fights in the basic group of the European Cup 2006 is the
champion from Wiler Ersigen. The Swiss champion declassed in the last match the
russian team Niћegorodмc 9:3 and as a winner of the group A will play in the
semifinal against Warberg.
Wiler started to play with complete line up, with all stars. Wiler fought against
the rival from the first minutes, altough the coach Berger separated the most
powerful line of brothers Hoffbauer and Vдnttinen. Nobody scored till the 8th
minute, later on they collapsed under the press of their rival. The Swiss team
scored 4 goals during 4 minutes! After the break Ersigen decreased the press.
Bukin changed the score to 1:6, but later on the Swiss team showed the excellent
combination in the head with Thorsell
who scored. In the end Ersigen showed a mercy and didn't score the ignominious
10th goal. Wiler sent off the goalkeeper to score it but Maslov netted free box.
