Система компьютерной алгебры GAP: BROCK INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON GROUPS, RINGS, and GROUP RINGS

Dear Colleagues,

This is the FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT for the

BROCK INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON GROUPS, RINGS, and GROUP RINGS

July 28 to August 1, 2014

Brock University,
St. Catharines, ON
CANADA

OVERVIEW: The subject of group rings naturally brings together researchers in ring theory and group theory, and has close connections to work in several other areas, especially representation theory and number theory. Recent advances in other areas, including algebras with polynomial identities, graded algebras and Lie algebras, coding theory, and the search for set-theoretic solutions of the Yang-Baxter equations have shed light on the importance of techniques developed initially for group rings.

The purpose of the Brock International Conference on Groups, Rings and Group Rings is to bring international groups of researchers in group rings together with those in areas with close connections to group rings to present and discuss the latest advances in these areas. It will also provide an opportunity for graduate students and postdocs from Canadian universities and from some international universities to present their own results and to appreciate the scope and depth of the theories of groups, rings and
group rings by attending this conference.

This will be the first such conference held in the Niagara region.

Invited Speakers: Sudarshan Sehgal, Donald Passman, A'ngel del Ri'o, Ce'sar Polcino Milies, Efim Zelmanov, Yuri Bahturin, David Riley,Gabriele Nebe, Jason Bell, Benjamin Steinberg, Jan Okninski, Eli Aljadeff, and Sergio Lopez-Permouth
